Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

We are headed to a cabin in the mountains in North Carolina for Christmas. All my friends are asking, is your family there? I am like NO, that is why we are going. laugh out loud I am so excited to just be with my husband and daughter this Christmas. We are going to go cut a tree down like I did when I was a kid. She will get to see snow for the first time and go sledding! Build a snowman, make a snowball....all the things you can't do in Florida. I grew up in Fairfax, VA so I am used to the cold and I love it!
That sounds like a perfect way to spend the holidays! I miss the cold and snow, only on Xmas day. Wink

Heard a new one today. The cashier didn't want to accept the $5 off $30 Target coupon because it stated "valid in store only", so that meant it could only be used at a Target store.
Crylol That is funny. Didn't you tell her it didn't state what store? You were in a "store." laugh out loud

Happy B-Day Madam A!! Hope you celebrated your 30th birthday in style!!!
Yes Kim, December is a fine month to be born, and I am sure that has nothing to do with the fact that YOU also celebrated a birthday last week!

Tizzy and JD.... birthday started like any other day....up at 6 to get some shopping in.....well this happened and that happened and as soon as I knew it I was in a car (@ 8PM)....driving to Missouri....it was a quick trip....Had to bring someone up!
Highlight of entire trip was a BONUS stop in Montgomery to see my baby!hug
There it was a day after my birthday, but absolutely THE BEST birthday ever!
Imagine my disappointment in all the LOD states and could not stop once with my MM Temptations laugh out loudI
have been up for 50 hours Im going to go crash....

Excuse me . . . Quick trip to Missouri . . . sheesh! You want to tell me quick trip to Orlando or Miami - I get that. But Missouri . . . You are one brave and daring mama! Glad you are back safe! They sure got quite a bit of snow up there!

Happy Belated Birthday KimBob! hug You should have told me so I had an excuse to "toast"!

I never made it to Publix yesterday - too many appointments. Plus it was non-stop heavy rain until about 6pm. I will however make it there this afternoon. Big Grin

Hi guys, I kinda of feel bad for jumping in here with my dilemmas and haven't caught up on all the congrats & well wishes that are due!!! I promise I'll get back to those.

Long story short, I have the Flu. A to be exact. I even had the flu shot at CVS. I'm on day 6 in bed. Ended up in the ER on Sunday night.

Of course, I'm out of time and can't do anything. I'm too dizzy to even sit up. So, DH is having to do everything around here (bless him).

What I'm needing help with is girly-girl stuff for a 4-year old. She wants makeup and hair stuff (blow dryer, etc). She already has the little disney glittery polishes, lip balms, etc. I'm thinking she wants shadows, lipsticks, blush, etc. Santa told her she's too young, but I'm thinking if it's just for dress up, it's okay. My problem: do they make little sets that are a step above Disney type stuff, but below all the bold color stuff? Also, do they make "real" hair care sets for little girls? Not all the pretend hair dryers and not the little brush/comb/headband sets.

I want nothing more than to go peruse aisles right now, but can't even make it 10 steps to the bathroom without bouncing off walls like a pinball!

It was a quick trip 890 miles one way...I won't even get into the fact I was given the wrong address and drove 4 hours out of our way!!!
nor that we had to stop at a Mall (the horror- i HATE Malls and it was not for Rangg or Wrapp, I would NEVER step foot into one!)
and then a trip to Walmart....
and I could go on and on about reasons the trip annoyed me.....
but that one stop in Montgomery made it all worth it....
and my lil girl, she did not make me a birthday cake.....Nope not her, she splurged and made me (congo bars, 7 layer, hello dollys, magic bars...whatever they are)
and I will have 12 20 2012 embedded in my mind for as long as I live!

Going to Missouri is a quick trip? I dread driving to Clearwater because it takes to long. LMAO Good to hear you were able to see your baby! It must of been a nice birthday/pre Xmas gift all in one! Now get some sleep. You'll need to rest up to tackle this ad! nod

That's awful. Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Good thing you stocked up on that flu medicine at CVS. I thought the shot is supposed to prevent the flu?

Not sure about the hair dryer set. I know I saw a Hello Kitty Dryer before at Target. But I don't think it's specifically for little girls. Barbie has a makeup set [amazon.com]. Not sure if that is what you are looking for. My DD is nine and she plays with my Covergirl/Maybelline shadows, glosses and blushes I get for free.

I hope you feel better soon. Comfort

Moving to chat - JD, I don't know what I'm more jealous of, your savings, your immaculate kitchen or your perfectly organized pantry! Our house currently looks like a Christmas bomb has gone off inside. At least the basement stockpile that I'm in charge of looks nice, complete with a Scotties fort, since I may or may not have bought 120 boxes of tissues last week (in increments of 12 per visit, pushing the 10-item limit a little, though not all my stores enforce that). I'm too wiped out from all those Publix visits to have done any shopping for this ad yet.

Awesome Publix run! Beautiful kitchen Big Grin

Thanks - I love my kitchen. Big Grin We tend to live in the kitchen. I think most people do. Do you ever notice that at Holiday's and parties everyone ends up in the kitchen? I try really hard to keep the kitchen and keeping room clean. Everyone who "drops by" or "drops in" always ends up in the kitchen. We have a huge granite bar that seats 8 so that tends to be the gathering spot. People think I am so neat . . . God help them if they ever walked in our Master bedroom, they would think Macy's and TJ Maxx exploded in there!!

Didn't catch the kitchen last night because I was mobile. It's gorgeous! That is a dream kitchen to me! I can see why it's a gathering spot. Smilie

I'm such a procrastinator. Just hubby, the girls and I for Xmas, and I have no idea what I'm making but ham. Guess I better start planning something. Teehee What's everyone making/having/ordering? laugh out loud
