Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

This is just a random vent.

Why does everything happen at the same time? Expensive things I mean.

Dishwasher gushed water everywhere & now my under sink cabinet is pretty much falling apart (the bottom is completely warped/caved. DH took car for oil change & it needs brakes. Now the air handler is pouring water into our garage - and soaked through a case of paper.

Sigh.
I've never understood why they don't make the cabinet underneath a sink water proof. I always water proof mine the best I can when when I move in -- I usually cut a piece of hard heavy plastic (I buy a drop ceiling lighting insert -- the type that usually covers a fluorescent light -- at Home Depot) and slide it in -- that way even nasty spills will wipe up easily.

And if your DH took the car to a chain place like Midas or whatever -- know that they are encouraged to "up-sell" people -- so get a second opinion before you jump into anything.

WHERE ARE YOU? If you only post "I WENT TO MY LOCAL STORE and..." and you do not indicate the city/location of that store and your location is not in your profile so that it displays under your screen name, your post IS NOT HELPFUL at all. SO, PLEASE IDENTIFY YOUR LOCATION! Or take your post off to the appropriate blog. Thank You.

I took my car a few weeks ago to the Honda dealer and they rattled off a list of several thousand dollars worth of repairs. Took it to a chain place and it was well under $1000 and even less if Honda decides to honor a re-do of a recall.

Honda told me I needed all new brakes because they ONLY squeak when I reverse. This other place said my brakes are fine for another 10,000 miles...but gave no solution on the darned squeaking laugh out loud

The way I see it
every life is a pile of good things and bad things.
The good things don’t always soften the bad things
but vice versa
the bad things don’t necessarily spoil the good things
and make them unimportant

I wish Publix would officially make up its mind on the whole Albertsons B1G2 on meat. One store sometimes takes it while other don't take it at all.

oooooooh what a GREAT idea bulb You bet your patootie I'll be doing that from here on out!!

He took it to Honda and then to Midas for a 2nd opinion. They said yes too. Good news it was just pads & turn rotors. Not as bad as I had thought it was going to be.

Just tried those new Nutri Grain Fruit Crunch bars and they are pretty good IMHO. (And a MM!) But very crumbly. My boss stole one off my desk and left a trail of crumbs Facepalm

The one I opened today had one whole one and one that was only about 1/3 the length of the other and no crumbs, so you know it was packed that way. I was Bigeye once I saw how many carbs are in one pkg (28 for the strawberry parfait one).

I don't eat fruit, but I gave my mom and sister one today and both fell in love with them!

OK, I got in on the NutriGrain bars deal. I am looking into this Kelloggs Rewards. I have an account, I've only used it for FREE point codes.
How often do they do promos?
I think in Jan. they were doing TRIPLE points?
I saw a 25 point bonus for the CRunch bars going on now.
Should I wait to eneter codes til there is a better promo?

Can anyone tell me if the Peanut Butter Toast Crunch is still $1.99? I went to 2 stores last week and it was regular price and I'm mildly certain I only printed those Qs because it would have been cheap.

And I missed out on the Nutri Grain Sadwalk. My dad was looking forward to those (he loved those stupid Quaker cookies and ate them all already)

It should still be on sale, as the essentials didn't start until the 30/31st of Jan. I'd buy it this week though.

General Mills Cereal, Cinnamon, Frosted or Peanut Butter Toast Crunch, 12 to 12.3 oz box, 1.99

Ugh, do you have any idea how many times I missed seeing that? Wonder if it's not tagged at the store, if it will still ring up correctly.

There is an essentials link in the wiki that I update Wink5

You could always put it in your basket and put it first on the belt and ask them to price check it. Go back in once your groceries are in the car to get more if they ring up favorably.
