Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

I must be dealing with the 3 stooges car dealership.

I want a select color Corolla LE and add fog lights. Dealership demanded a $500 check to go get the car (not on their lot), so I drove the 20 miles up there just to give them a check...was on the 13th I think. I told them three weeks ago I was out of town last week (I was) and I'd be picking it up today. I needed the VIN number to finish the insurance info. So I emailed them yesterday. They sent that, and then said I'd have to arrange to have the fog lights put in?

What? I'm paying for a car with fog lights. I'm not planning on bringing one home without them. I'm single and I have to arrange with friends to get to work with no car, then have another friend that lives north of here drop me at the dealership. That coordination has already been done. I don't want to have to go back to the dealership to have the fog lights put in (2 day process). Per an email from the dealership, they've had the car since the 15th. Why didn't they go ahead and put the fog lights in?

I don't know what to do today... ride into work with my coordinated ride, ride to the dealership with my other coordinated ride and have the dealership bring me home (no car), take the new car that I have to bring back to the dealership and leave for fog light insertion or just call off my coordination for today and drive like normal or pick the car up when it's ready (with the fog lights).

What should I do? My ride will be here within the hour.

Tn, I wouldn't pick up the car til it's ready, fog lights and all. I'd also give them a piece of my mind since they've had it for 10 days, and haven't done it.

Reps are back...for now. Stick Out Tongue I owe loads of gratitude to everyone that got me where I am! Read the *NEW* CVS FAQ and post your questions there. Let's keep the deal threads deal-related, please.
Would it kill you to read the wiki? Or to read the thread? All the experts got to where they are by reading...you can too.

I agree with Ryder. Whatever you do DO NOT TAKE the car from them until it is EXACTLY the way you want it.

Years ago I bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse and I wanted it a certain color and with a sunroof. There was supposedly one in Jacksonville, FL which is 2 1/2 hrs from me. Long story short, when I arrived to get the car, the car didn't have a sunroof. They were going to add one to it aftermarket but because I had drove all that way, I took the car. They said the dealership here would do it for me. LIE! The dealership here wouldn't do it and I had to go back to Jacksonville. Lesson Learned. Thank god I was only 21 so I can blame that one on my youth. laugh out loud

I know I'm probably too late, but I agree with the others. I would NOT take the car until it is exactly what I purchased. I'd also give them a piece of my mind & tell them since it hasn't been done, you're without transportation and you'd like a loaner until it is done.

I drove to work today (and left my coordinated ride coming to get me for nothing).

I can't believe they had it for 10 days and did absolutely nothing to it, even though I'm paying for fog lights.

I'm not picking it up until it has fog lights installed.

Heads up for my Publix Peeps that were going to do the P&G rebate. They just posted this on their FB page.

Procter & Gamble Hello - We appreciate your patience while we were researching the issue. Multiple receipts are allowed and our promotion's team has been notified to update the rebate forms. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

There is no such thing as a "yellow advantage flyer" now. It's a Grocery Advantage flyer and it's Pale green.

Ask your store to keep them behind the service desk so that everyone has a chance at them.

I wouldn't either. I hope they install them quickly so you can get your car soon.

My store always has some behind the counter. I'd ask at customer service again to see if they have any in and while I'm there ask if they can keep some behind the counter since they are always out of them. If that doesn't work contact the store manager and see if he/she can resolve the issue. If that doesn't work you should email corporate.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't take any chances, I did all Venus razors at CVS on one receipt. Hope they don't kick back rebates because of all the confusion happening.

What's on your list next week (starts tomorrow here)?

Mine has a loaf of Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse Sourdough bread on it.

I'm thankful next week is NOT a gas card week (ad stinks IMO).

I remember this store from when I lived in that neck of the woods way back when -

Google "Price Chopper fined" for various news articles on the subject.

The store is being fined for not disclosing in its ads that it would only double coupons up to a certain amount, among other restrictions. It will now have to make those restrictions known, in ads and in stores.

On the one hand, it makes sense. On the other hand, I don't see a "10-item limit" posted at the Publixes I go to (not that I mind, but just as an example). I don't see a printed Kroger coupon policy that states I can only use 5 like coupons in one transaction.

It would be a good thing if stores had to disclose every nuance of all of their policies, but then store circulars would end up looking like pharmaceutical ads with loads of legalese. I'd be nervous if I ran a grocery store and some gung-ho prosecutor decided to follow this Attorney General's lead. Using his logic, they could all be in trouble.
