Thread Details

The PUBLIX thread is IMHO the best grocery store thread around heart
Here's a little chat area for us all to share info, recipes, rant's, raves and whatever else we want without clogging up the regular weekly deals thread for PUBLIX. If we want to share super deals we find in other stores or whatnot that's ok too heart

I think we all are such a great family that it's a good to have our own special place Grouphug

You can post basically anything you like in here but let's keep deals info in the actual PUBLIX thread. All are welcome and basically no major rules except be kind and courteous of other's and treat each other with respect. Other than that let's all have some fun! Also you don't have to shop at PUBLIX to share in the chat or whatnot... we like everyone.

Is it just me or did the version to view on the phone change (not the app)? I can't figure how to get it back and this version doesn't have "first unread" or "last page" buttons.

SD has been working on redesigns for the web version, and I think mobile too. There are several threads discussing that in the SD.net sub-forum

The new Classico Pasta Sauce $2/2 TQ IP should come in handy in the future, as it goes on sale fairly often at Publix.

I didn't want to start a new thread -- so slightly off topic:

For those in the Miami area: Instacart has come to Miami and they are offering promotions. It's a grocery delivery service that promises "in-store" pricing. I found out about it from a targeted email that came via my Winn-Dixie card- offering me $10 off my first order and free delivery if I placed an order with Winn-Dixie (so check your emails -- or if you didn't get the email, ask a friend who already has instacart for a $10 referral link).

I was a bit skeptical, but started to place an order with Winn-Dixie -- and left the order languishing for a few days. While it was uncompleted I got a second offer: A month's worth of free deliveries. I noticed that I could order from Whole Foods also (and even Costco without needing a card!) so I added some Whole Foods items to my order. When I tried to check out -- it gave me a problem with the Winn-Dixie portion, so I deleted the items -- and the $10 credit stayed! So, I placed an order with Whole Foods and got $21.86 worth of items for which there aren't coupons (and which were actually priced better than Publix), and even after providing a $4 tip to the driver -- I paid just $15.86 - and the items were all delivered in less than an hour! The time and gas to get to and from Whole Foods was worth more than the $4 tip to me.

So, if you haven't tried it -- it's worth knowing about. Would I use it all the time? No. But I will probably use it when I need specific items from Whole Foods (or Costco - OMG -- the nearest Costco is like 30 minutes away!). $10 was the minimum order for delivery from Whole Foods when I checked out (Winn-Dixie had upped their amount to $30 or $35 from $10 -- I don't know what happened there). Publix isn't yet available via instacart.

There's a $5 GC TQ personal care purchase of $20 or more this coming sunday in the Target Ad. I have a Publix with a Target Competitor that will take this.

I had a plan to buy Gold Bond powder for my brother, as there is a new $2/1 MQ in the coming inserts. Carp that the Qs are limit one per transaction, so their goes my plan of just buying enough to hit the $20 mark. I'm trying to put on my thinking cap, as I don't normally buy shampoo, deodorant, oral care as I have so much stockpiled. I hate paying full price for toothpaste, but my Colgate Total type pretty much never goes on sale and it's 3.29 (but there is a $1/1 MQ). I don't buy makeup, sunscreen, lotion, etc.

Ideas anyone, hopefully with good MQs that are readily available to stack with this? Maybe I can just donate whatever else I buy, if it's cheap enough.

I've seen a couple of scenarios with schick razors and a $7/2 IP but I haven't printed it yet and don't know Publix prices on them.

Thanks amcc.

I had thought about the razors in the Purple Flyer, but I thought you couldn't stack a PQ with the TQ.

That is tricky. Technically they will consider the tq a dollar off total purchase and the pq is considered to be off just the items. As the policy states it's only COMPetitor coupons with groups of items that are considered dollar off total, pq's are not stated as such. So much confusion here even with corporate, but that is how the policy reads.

That said, you will get a cashier and/or manager that will say you cannot use a tq and pq together. And I get it with these types of coupons as they do seem to be the exact same type.....dollar of a group of items. But when you have the tq that is dollar off groups, you certainer can use a $1 pq as it's a comp considered dollar off total, where as the pq is not a dollar off total, it's off a group of items, so cannot use a $1 sq with it.

Hope that makes sense.

I haven't bought cans of tuna since they were 50 cents many years ago.

Can't believe they are like 80 cents or more now.

Any tips on where and when the best deals are?

Not much again this week for me:
Perdue Short Cuts
David's sunflower seed (thanks for pointing this out)
Farmland Homestyle Bacon and Sausage (if we got the coupon)
Hebrew National (maybe to reach the $30)
Graham crackers for smores (if they end up cheaper than Aldi's)
Nabisco multipacks if the kids behave Stick Out Tongue

I haven't even looked at the non BOGO parts of the ads in weeks. I really really really would love a Quilted Northern BOGO again.
