Pros: The pills were there.
Cons: So was the tank. |

Find one that will work on the vpro series of Intel processors. The legacy kernel might work with Snow Leopard. As for kernel extensions, you'll have to find those as well. The W8 was apparently not as popular as the more mainstream Toughbooks, so there's not a lot of information out there on the matter. If you have a basic understanding of the computer and its components, you should be able to find kexts that will work from other installs... But the point is, there's not gonna be a step-by-step guide somewhere for this model. You're gonna have to adapt other guides to fit this laptop. I may try to boot with a modified kernel later today, but no promises. Last edited by PaintTheSkyGrey; 03-04-2011 at 07:47 AM.. |

Still haven't received any update on my order. Noticed that what *I* agreed to with their last set of terms/e-mail... indicates that *my* order will ship.
Subject: Important information on your recent Panasonic Toughbook W8 order 1. I understand the W8 is non-returnable and all sales are final. 2. I understand that unless otherwise stated in this email that this w8 will ship as a base configuration including 2GB of installed memory and will NOT include ant-virus software, Microsoft office software, and will only include the base manufacturer warranty for a period of 3 years." NOTE: This promotion is subject to availability, and subject to the intent of the Panasonic Friends and Family promotion. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason. Please respond the following questions: 1. I understand the W8 is non-returnable and all sales are final. 2. I understand that unless otherwise stated in this email that this w8 will ship as a base configuration including 2GB of installed memory and will NOT include ant-virus software, Microsoft office software, and will only include the base manufacturer warranty for a period of 3 years. รจ Type your response here: ______________ Sorry for the red text guys. Just wanted it to stand out. So yes, the "agreement email" also said they can cancel your order because they feel like it. You can't just pin point certain phrases like "this w8 will ship" and act like that trumps the other terms giving them the right to cancel the order. Try to get that sort of flawed logic to hold up in court and you'll be eating those defense lawyer fees just like that other guy who got screwed out of 25 grand. The only people who have any sort of case are the ones who have been charged and will never receive their laptop. That is completely illegal for Bizco to do and they have to rectify it. It does suck you didn't get your W8, I do sympathize but you are looking for a loophole that doesn't exist. |

As someone who was charged last week, I really would like to know if the laptop has shipped. It sounds like some have without notification. I don't know if mine did ship or if they haven't shipped it yet. Either way, I'm sympathetic with them but this is getting a bit silly. They said 7-14 days after confirmation. We are well past that.

I didn't "agree" to what they stated in an e-mail. I agreed to what I sent them back with. And that included the two points i mentioned... in addition to me stating that I "agreed" to those two points. The reference of "this email" was in reference to my e-mail, not theirs. And thank you for sympathizing with me, this did drive me nuts- obviously.
