Mitsubishi 73-inch 1080p 3D Ready Home Cinema TV $1099
Dell [dell.com]has the Mitsubishi 73-inch 1080p 3D Home Cinema TV for $1099 w/ free shipping. I have the 60" and 65" models and they are wonderful. Crisp clear picture when playing Black Ops online, watching movies, and hd programming. If you dont have hd in your area, I would highly suggest going with an LCD.
Very good price for a 73-inch.... thanks !
Great reviews also.... just wonder how long these latest gen DLPs last without something going bad.. anyone know ?
"In order to display 3D images, Mitsubishi 3D Ready DLP Home Cinema TVs require the use of a 3D source device coupled with the Mitsubishi 3D adapter or other source devices that support checkerboard display formats for display of 3D games, 3D broadcasts from terrestrial/cable/satellite and 3D Blu-Ray disc content. In all cases an emitter and matching 3D active shutter glasses or DLP Link active shutter glasses are required in order to view 3D content."
What is a Mitsubishi 3D adapter ??
Don't 3D Tvs have everything built-in ?

Mitsu 3d adapter[amazon.com]
It is not as cut-and-dry. My 65" mitsu dlp (a 2009 model) will only display "checkerboard" 3d content. Not sure if this is still the case with the 2010 models. Most providers (bluray players and maybe directv?) chose a different way of displaying 3d, hence the adapter requirement. You can find panasonic players that will output checkerboard, and negate the requirement of an adapter.
Good price, if you need a tv this big. My TV is beautiful, provided I watch at night or put up blackout curtains. If you can live with a 60", grab an LG plasma when they get down this low instead.
We have a 73" DLP. Lamp was replaced twice under extended warranty. 2nd time the repair guy told us that it is because there is a door close to the TV and when it shuts the vibration causes the lamp to go bad. I guess when the extended warranty is gone we will end-up with a LCD. Hopefully by then a 73" LCD price will be lower.
Any coupons or code to make this deal even better?
A cash back site which apparently cannot be named here on SD offers 2% cash back for Dell.com, which would work out to $21.98 for this deal. Fatwallet says "up to 4%" cash back at Dell, but I don't have an account over there and I'm not sure what the exact cash back % would be on this.
