Bought an Vertex 2 and 2 months later, it's dead. The ocz RMA process is so painful, it takes forever to get an RMA #. Consider the long wating time to get the MIR and not so good reliability of their SSD and painful RMA, I will not buy any OCZ SSD, unless it's half price of intel product. That way you can have 2 ssds to ascertain no down time.

wow - this is EXACTLY the reason that I went with the Intel 120GB SSD in December. Yes - more expensive, but it is possibly RELIABLE - which is VERYIMPORTANT TO ME. I've only had it installed for 1 month though - so my time may be coming too. But - I know I paid more for less speed/performance. Now I'm just crossing my fingers.
If these things are so bad, why are the prices higher than I paid 3 months ago? I thought they'd get cheaper. Anyone know why they're failing? Any way to prevent them from failing? Any precautions to take? |
