I hate Coco Crisp's "type"...he belongs in the NBA, the thug...maybe the NFL. You can be excited and intense and not look like you are going to shoot someone or beat down your teammates.

Officials high up in each organization are looking to see if we can trade Valverde for Inge. Both are worthless to their current teams and will remain worthless after the trade, but Inge is our homeboy

Seriously though, the thing about Valverde...he doesn't have anything that over powers you...he doesn't have crazy control or a wicked curve ball...no idea how he EVER gets a save other then through his weird little antics. He is a heart attack every time he touches the mound, but so was Rodney, Todd Jones and Percival just sucked.

I was trying to look back to see who our last GOOD closer was...I forgot about Ugueth Urbina, he had decent stats but never the full time job (we were only winning 40 games anyway...not many save ops.)

God...it's probably Willie Hernandez from the 80s, haha, but I don't remember him. I always liked Matt Anderson / Zumaya, guys that will just blow you away...Chapman type guys.

Nolan Ryan questions Josh Hamilton
Texas Rangers CEO Nolan Ryan said the timing of Josh Hamilton's decision to quit smokeless tobacco this summer "couldn't have been worse."

"You would've liked to have thought that if he was going to do that, that he would've done it in the offseason or waited until this offseason to do it," Ryan said during an appearance on ESPN Dallas 103.3 FM's Galloway and Company this week. "So the drastic effect that it had on him and the year that he was having up to that point in time when he did quit, you'd have liked that he would've taken a different approach to that."

"You know, that's really a tough term to say somebody quit," Ryan said. "He had an issue, he was under a magnifying glass and things didn't go well. If he would have gotten a couple of hits in those key situations or if he hadn't dropped that ball in Oakland, would people be saying that? No, they wouldn't be saying that. It didn't look good. But do I think he quit? I have no reason to think he quit. It didn't go well. It didn't look good and only Josh knows what was in his heart and what was in his mind."
