Not bad! I hate how they have the $20 resort fee though.

Pretty decent deal. I did it last year and enjoyed the buffet (last time it was unlimited buffets all day long). I'll probably book it again if I can find a room at that price.

thanks. got in for 5/30 and 5/31... I assume its 2 buffets each day right... not total? If its total, you should make multiple bookings? Two years ago it was 6 per day Frown, and there was no resort fee... but definitely was not a suite and it cost the same.

thinking about the $35 Harrah's rooms or this for $60. Gonna be my first time to vegas. Is it worth the extra $25 per night to be in the MGM Grand? How's the location? Does the 2 free buffets mean everyday or just 1 of the days you book? I plan on being there about 3-5 days.

just my opinion... i honestly think its everyday for the buffet. Also, I believe Harrah's has no resort fee... so you are looking at $35ish compared to really $80ish. So basically your buffets each day are covering the resort fee. Location is at the far end of the strip, away from a lot of places... but I did not mind walking the strip toward the evening when it got cooler (It gets super hot in Vegas in the summer). I really loved the MGM. I do not have much to compare it to though. But I feel that this deal is great and you do not have to put in a lot of money for what you get.

oh, so the resort fees are per night, not per reservation?

yes. according to my email... "For your convenience, A daily resort fee of $18 plus tax will be added to your room account. The resort fee includes the following hotel: Complimentary high speed internet, $15 Beverage credit per stay at MGM Grand-owned bars, daily newspaper USA Today available at Front Page Newsstand, local and toll free calls, outgoing faxes, notary, and boarding pass printing."

I honestly do not know if that means you can charge $15 of drinks to the room. I went to Vegas before these hotels started doing resort fees. Maybe someone else can chime in about that.

MGM Grand has a resort fee of I believe $20+ per day, so it actually makes it a difference of $45 per day. I have not stayed at either of these hotels, so I can't really comment on if it's worth it. However, if you're in your room as little as most people are during their stay in vegas, it might not be worth it to you. If you just plan on using it as a place to sleep, what is the difference really? The rooms might be a bit nicer at the MGM grand, but the chances of you feeling like it was worth it for the extra $45 per day aren't very likely unless you spend more time in your room than the average vegas visitor. I have stayed at MGM Signature, Venetian, Excalibur, and Planet Hollywood. I didn't have any more or less fun on any of my trips to Vegas just because of the hotel I stayed in. So I would say if you have the money to do the MGM Grand, go for it...but I'm guessing you'll be in your room so little that you'll be happy either way. Also, in my opinion, Harrah's is a little more centrally located, which is nice.

$20/night resort fee is A LOT considering it's like 1/3 the cost of the room per night. So we're paying $20/night but NOT getting $15 beverage credit/night. This sucks.
