Kind of an inflated retail since it's 499 at microcenter right now. Sure hope they get one of those $50 coupons for hp going again. Maybe I can finally use my gift cards.

It is aluminum and has a fingerprint reader, you always pay more for that.

If this is a good deal and you're thinking about purchasing, just a word of warning regarding these new HP touchpads...if you haven't tried them out in stores, I would recommend going in and making sure it is usable for your needs. The have integrated the click buttons right into the touchpad, so it is not a separate area. This was my first problem with this new touchpad, but wasn't enough to initially make me return the laptop. However, after using it for a short period of time, I realized that the touchpad was recognizing my touch from my index finger on my left hand resting on the left click area. It would cause the trackpad to go crazy because it wouldn't know whether to follow my index finger on my left hand, or the motion I was actually trying to accomplish with my index finger on my right hand. I know this sounds very picky and not like something that might bother you, but trust me, it becomes very annoying if you're the kind of person to use one index finger to click and the other to control the pointer. HP tried to resolve the problem with a driver update that allowed for you to choose an area where the touchpad would respond to your touch. However, it didn't exactly turn out very well. It works better, but it still makes it so that if you touch the trackpad clicker first then the pointer, it doesn't know what to do...it only works if you put your finger on the touchpad to use the pointer with your right hand first, then put your finger on your left hand on the clicker. Basically, if you rest your finger on the clicker area, this touchpad is going to give you a lot of problems. I'm not a gamer, but when I researched this problem to find solutions, I found a lot of unhappy gamers saying the touchpad is impossible to use with any type of game because it doesn't give you the control you need. I believe HP is using this touchpad with a lot of their new computers, which is really very annoying. If you use an external mouse or you only use one hand to point and click, then you won't notice what I'm talking about.
