i did a search for "harbor freight inside track" and didn't find any previous discussion on this topic...

here's a URL to the deal:

http://www.harborfreight.com/insi...aign=0711c

there really isn't enough specific information to be able to tell if this is worth it? and in many cases, it might be worth it to someone but not to another, so what criteria would make it worth it?

For example, my "Executive" business membership to Costco + my Costco AMEX card are well worth it since we usually get back about $500 every year and so it more than pays for itself.

Does anyone have any experience with HF's "Inside Track" club and was it worth it? were the "member's only coupons" useful or mostly junk? Are there other benefits that aren't obvious?

thanks for any discussion...

My husband signed up for it last year, but I have yet to see anything that makes it worth the fee.

what type of coupons do you get? are they better than the usual "free" coupons you can sign up for online? just wondering what the "benefits" are even if they are not useful for you guys...

thanks a lot for typing all that!! very much appreciated and gives me a better idea of what type of discounts come with the membership... which i guess isn't that much more than the standard coupons on their sales one can get without the membership...

Hi,

It depends on what you buy. Example 40lb. Soda Blaster inside track club super coupon for March is 99.99. I have seen the 15lb one for that, but not the 40lb. I plan to get this item during the month of March. Regular non-sale price is 299.99 and the lowest I have seen it otherwise on sale without membership was 149.99. Again, it all depends on what you buy and how often in a year. Good luck.

...

I wouldn't bother - the prices they show are about what you can find for many of the items in the magazine advertisements. They do offer some items not on sale usually in the circular or other areas in ITC. however, i noticed that you can you the coupon codes from itc that yu can get from the HF Thread at the online site. so I usually wait till they have a free shipping for orders over $130 and just use 'em online...

thanks for your input. i think i'm feeling the same way... it appears that ITC really isn't beneficial for buying small items as the savings is too small. it looks like ITC benefits those that might buy a few big ticket items that are marked down significantly for ITC members. Although I frequent the store quite a bit, I rarely leave with a purchase of more than $40. .

forgot to mention that the HF Coupon thread has links to the last three monthly ITC ads http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1276399

I would look at the last three months and see if anything there is worth it to you. The ITC is $30 but they currently give you a $10 gift card, so keep that in mind if you see anything that catched your eye

(everything in that stupid store catched my eye, unfortunately) Smilie

ok, thanks for pointing me to the link with ITC coupons.

so, generally speaking, for someone like me who buys a few small items and perhaps some wrenches/ratchets, the ITC membership isn't really worth it to me as far as price advantage is concern.

however, one of the other benefits is the early access to their sidewalk sales. has anyone benefited from this "early access"??? everytime I've gone to their sidewalk sale, they seem to be pretty well stocked on all items. i've never really seen an item where I thought "oh darn! I wish I got here sooner before they sold out!" ... i know some retail stores pull the gimmick of putting something deeply on sale to get people to come into the store, but they only have 5 in stock. i haven't seen this type of crap at HF (and hope not to)... but then the "early access" seems a bit pointless, no?
