I think it is very odd that they are using a hotmail account. I thought hilton employees all had a hilton address. No thanks.

I agree with you..but sometimes when you need to create a quick e-mail address to handle overwhelming response to a promotion....you create a hotmail address. Who wants 50,000 e-mails in their personal inbox about this promotion? MB:MSI P6N SLI-Fi Platinum

Warning about this promotion!
I just got off the phone with corporate hilton. They never ask people to text info to them. They will always, always have you go thru their website using security settings (sign on, password, etc)they said they are aware of this and are looking into it. They do not have hotmail account addresses either! Everyone who texted or called with their name and hilton honors account numbers, may jeopardize their hilton honors account. The corporate office is just now investigating this. I told them about the slickdeals site and asked if in any way, they could comment on this subject and give a little relief to those who are worried. I normally dont capitalize when i post, but i am hoping to stop anyone who is thinking about calling/emailing/texting. If you want to call anyone at all, contact hilton directly at 1-800-446-6677 |

The Hilton Corporate office knows nothing of this. They are investigating it. I was skeptical texting and calling my info to them. So, I am giving you the info I got from Hilton. The girl said they have never done a texting promotion for security issues. I just want to let everyone know, since this has had several issues.

the girl at hilton corp said they knew nothing of this, and it may come from someone within the company but it is not handled how they run their promotions and since many people are upset about how this is handled, it is a poor reflection on them and they didnt authorize this on a corporate level.

Call the Hilton Honors Corperate 1-888-240-6152 - The rep I spoke to was aware of the situation. He ended up just crediting my account 10k points and said they are investigating it. He said they may credit another 10k points if they get the hotel to honor their promotion.
NOTE: Originally I called a different number and found out that Mike Buddemyer (Director of operations for that hotel) is responsible for the promotion. You can also try calling (401) 608-3500 and just ask for him. - Mike told the hilton rep that the hotel would go broke if they honored all the requests, as the individual hotel has to pay cash to Hitlon to give out points (Someone is getting fired LOL) EDIT: YMMV Last edited by ubstudent7; 02-23-2011 at 01:42 PM.. |
