Slickdeals - Affiliate Redirects -> Chrome Extension
Browsing SD at work is a royal PITA because when clicking a link to a product SD redirects via affiliate links, almost all of which are blocked.I then have to manually copy and paste the link, strip the slickdeals header and paste the original link to get to the page (be it newegg, amazon, etc.). Sick of this I just wrote a Chrome extension that strips out the redirect so you go straight to the store website. Is anyone interested in this and wants to test it out for me? It seems good from my end: SlickDeals.crx [nxsfan.co.uk] I will only use this at work as I don't want SD to lose money. |

If you can make this work it would be awesome!!!
Tested and it's not working for me either. I get one of two outcomes, an SD 404 page or the same SD page I was just on. Just tested it on a bunch of front page deals.

The easier manual approach when this is needed is just to click reply on a post that contains the link and then copy and paste the actual url (in a reply, the redirects are gone).

This did work at the time it was posted! I stopped using it and it seems that slickdeals changed the url encoding scheme. If I get the chance I will post an updated version.

I find it slightly amusing that you are posting this on SD, where the SD web dev will see it, and easily know if/when to change the encoding scheme to mess it up

I wonder if anyone will get warned or post will disappear because it violates some type of end user agreement.
