Thread Details

I called DirecTv to cancel MLB Extra Innings for this season and they offered me $10 off each of my 6 payments. Not a bad deal. I'm sure this is a huge YMMV but DirecTV is great about giving whatever discounts they can.

last year i pretty much got it free with whatever normal programming i had. will have to check out the old bills and see if they offer it again. i doubt it.

i would go with mlb.tv if it was the same cost or lower. then you can watch ANYwhere you go with a high speed connection.

edit: so last year's deal was free choice extra for 3 months when you buy MLB extra innings for $60 a month for three months. so you actually saved $4 a month for those three months when you signed up for MLB

I got the same deal last season... and I'm crossing my fingers that it's offered again. Otherwise, the 60 bucks off is better than nothing. Thanks to the OP for alerting us!

I just called directv to cancel my MLB subscription from last year (or at least put the threat of me canceling in their head), and they offered me 6 months @ 23.99, whereas it was normally 6 months @ 33.99. I just saved $60 on something I was going to get anyways!

Tried canceling to get a better deal, no go. All he said he could do is take it from 34.99 for 6 months to 33.99 for 6 months. Really!? A whole dollar!? Still canceled, will call back later in month to get better deal. Had to call 3 times before I got a decent deal for NFL ticket.

Hoping again for a deal like last years.....

Thanks for posting this discount info.....hope everyone will continue to let us know what deals they are being offered so we can call benefit on our MLB packages that we get for this year Smilie

I'll settle for $10 off a month for 6 Months, if thats what ends up being the best discount......any $$'s saved in my book is good!

Yes, they show most/a lot of games. This is the one offered on cable as well.

yeah it is usually about $180+tax, etc. w/ my cable co., that is a lotta dough for baseball. I wasn't going to get it this season but my DH (yeah, I'm the wife!) said I should get it if I really like it, don't feel the pressure to watch EVERY game. But I know me, I still would. Problem is my team is LA Dodgers and that is 2 hours behind me. So I start watching a game at 9p, then have to DVR the rest. Spend the rest of the next day avoiding score updates, etc. so I can try to watch the rest of the game at 2X speed, but sometimes can't do it, then just delete game anyway. Ha ha, endless cycle. I think I'm going to save my $200 and splurge on something else. Even though I love Vin Scully!

Called back yesterday, told them I had spoken to a co-worker who had got the 23.99 for 6 months deal. Had me on hold for about 10 min, came back and told me they could give me that price! laugh out loudbounce

I got mine for $135.96. I called and said I wanted to cancel Extra Innings. She asked why, and I told her it was too expensive and the Indians stunk, so I wasn't going to pay that much money to watch them lose.

She said she would credit me for two of the 6 payments. Each payment is $33.99, so I got it for $135.96.

I probably could have gotten some movie channels thrown in to, but I figured games for less than a buck a piece were good enough.
