Yup nightstand storage condition 0 is the best option IMO if you have no children..
I have no children and don't have much of my stuff locked up but ready to go if needed. To bad the fire destroyed everything.. and my huge giant guard dog is SUPER HUNGRY Imagine if I had to console, the family of those slayed, I slain on game consoles...

Finally got to the range today with the 92A1. Shooting it seemed different than the 92FS i had rented a few weeks prior. Anyone with any doubts about the Hogue grips I can tell that they are very comfortable and my hand did not slip when firing (it was close to 100 in CT today and the range employees did not have the a/c on at the indoor range). For $20 you can't go wrong. One thing i noticed is the 92a1seems to have a long pull on each shot. I was expecting the first shot to be long a pull followed up by shorter subsequent pulls. I suppose its something I will have to get used to (I don't remember the CZ having a long pull or even my sr-22). Is there something i can do to shorten how far I have to pull the trigger in SA? I only had time to run though 4 mags of 9mm and 5 or 6 of the 22lr. Here's my target. As you can see I have a lot of practicing to do.
Stupid question for you guys. When cleaning I went in this order,
Does this sound correct? I've looked online and I never understood the order of using clp and Hoppes |

As far as cleaning goes, I do pretty much the same thing but I never use a metal brush. I will just break it down, spray everything with CLP (including inside the barrel) and then use q-tips/patches/papertowels until everything is clean, then I oil certain parts (different on each of my guns) such as the slide, trigger, etc. Put it back together. An hour or 2 later I wipe off the excess oil that has seeped out. When I put it away I will usually wrap it in a paper towel that will absorb any more oil that seeps out. I use this same method for all except my friend that stays out all the time. I follow the exact same steps but use a lot less oil.

Get yourself one of these
http://www.amazon.com/Hoppes-Bore...B004DPGM1O This is what I do: Spray CLP throughout parts of the slide barrel and frame. Let the slide and barrel sit while I clean the frame. I use a toothbrush and scrub pretty well, the wipe off everything using shop towels, qtips, compressed air works nice too. Then I do the same to the slide, and last the barrel. I run the boresnake through the barrel a bunch of times until clean then use hoppes grease in most parts where metal contacts metal (FYI a little grease goes a long way). I suggest watching some youtube videos and see how the pros do it. |

I have a buddy who specializes in this stuff.
If you have any particular questions let me know. I think I am going to start the process for a suppressor soon.. might as well get the stamp before you may never be able to I guess... Im still on the fence |

Went shooting with a friend of mine today. He has a Smith and Wesson 500 which is a big sucker (see here [badassoftheweek.com]). That thing packs a punch. Also shot his taurus raging bull, colt 45 1911, S&W Walther .40 (don't know the model #). He tells me he has a couple dozen more handguns
and a ton of ammo so I shot a bunch. Even let me borrow the 1911 and a bunch of ammo to shoot up. ![]() Good times! |
