oh, I was thinking too far, you were thinking too close. I was also thinking 30 yards not 30 feet.

Unless you're shooting strong metal or something, I wouldn't be worried about too close, and now that I see ft not yds, I wouldn't be worried about being farther back. Still best to start fairly close and see what the pattern will do, of course.

At some point, you'll want to shoot some slugs just because you can and just to say you did.

I bought 125 12ga 2.75" 1 oz. 7.5 lead shot shells for $30 out the door. What do you think?

I might get slugs in the future, but I am trying to stay cheapish for now.

25 for $5 sounds good to me.

Set up a deal alert for slugs in case you ever need to put air holes in a burn barrel.

On a side note: do you have any experience with gun site paint? The white on my front site chipped off a bit, and I want to do it over.

Yes I have used high viz white paint before.

Here is what I used it on for my P3AT - I wanted the white to help see the sights better, but they do glow in the dark which is nice, they just need to be charged by light (so kinda useless haha). You can hit it with your flashlight for about 2 seconds and its BRIGHT.

I am thinking I want orange or a similar BRIGHT color. I may just hit up a craft store and see what they have, can't be any different then that stuff you think?

Not sure man, I know that stuff is specifically made for guns, I am sure there are others that are just the same if not better!

If I lived down there I would be doing that kinda stuff all the time. NH is gun friendly, but nowhere near as friendly as VA from the sound of it.

Nice, i just used toothpicks to paint em on and had plenty leftover!

Yeah I only have a few guns that I would do so I will have plenty left over. I thought about doing my flashlights too, so I can find those easier. And I saw a pic of the bottom of a mag painted, which looked pretty good. Probably make it easier to find the gun in the dark. Heck I am just going to paint errrrything.

Over the course of the next few months, I intend to buy an assault rifle, but I'm not sure what kind I should get and what kind of bling I want for it. A little background: I did my time in the military. I'm quite proficient with the M16A1, M60, and the AT4....for when those doors just won't open.

I have $1,000 to $1,500 that I plan to set aside for this purchase, but I'm not sure what will give me the most bang for my buck. All I've ever used are traditional iron sites, but I'd like to have a decent scope. Weapons I'm considering are the AR15, M4, and SBR 300. So......can you guys provide me with some advice and links?
