Ill give you the lifetime warranty, got me there..

Although I know a good keltec that has one of those and is US made.. but there is a strong keltec following (cult) growing.. haha
Well a Kel-tec is on my short list if this M&P doesn't turn out well.

I didn't realize Karh owns Magnum Research too. Interesting - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kahr_Arms

I am really anxious for 4/12 - S&W announcing new entries into their M&P lineup. Hoping for a ~$400 single-stack 9mm with no safety, slide lockback on last round, and 7+ capacity drool
im intrigued and am awaiting further details come the day.

I came across that photo last night while trying to dig up whatever I could about this announcement and I am seriously interested as this seems to fit what I am looking for exactly.

I would be all over the bersa thunder 9 ultra compact I posted earlier were it not for the double stack characteristic.

I have yet to find a plastic gun that I have liked so far but this just might be the ticket. Thursday can't come soon enough. Hopefully they will release price point and all that. Now I am just wondering how difficult it will be to find one once they hit the wild.

I have heard that they are actually in production, so they should be literally shipping them out on Thursday. A bunch of people have already done reviews but they just can't post any info yet. I am waiting to see it in action and see what the dimensions are, but I am hoping to get some good news from my local shop when I more than likely call them this coming weekend and inquire.

So what do you think of it? Honestly I was hoping for something a little smaller. I may still get a PF9 after all. I was hoping for a literal pocket gun, and this doesn't seem like one.

Beretta Nano
Bersa BP9cc
Keltec PF9
Kahr CW9 (or even smaller CW9)
Ruger LC9

soo many slim 9's out now just to name a few

I still think they are little large for pocket carry

I'd go with the P3at for pocket obviously
But theres the LCP as well

I will have to get my hands on one and try it out for size. My big turnoff with a lot of pocket pistols is the lonesome pinky with no where to go. I realize that some, including this one, have magazine grip extensions so I need to see how it feels.

I wasn't able to read anything on their website regarding what action it is. Are most guns of this nature DAO? I need to do more research tomorrow when I have more time after work.

Edit: It is DAO, but the trigger pull doesnt look too bad. I think the double action on my CZ is 7-8 lbs so it wouldnt be that much of an adjustment.

Snagged links to photos from a deal thread on here for the gun (deal is dead) comparing the size to a glock 26.

Edit 2: M&P Shield Accessories Guide [smith-wesson.com]

So I guess I am doing some research tonight instead.

After I get my concealed carry gun out of the way my next project will more than likely be an AR build. I am of the mind that a pistol serves as a means to get to your rifle. Maybe next winter I can start putting something together.

Call it a hunch but I have a feeling my father bought me a gun that may or may not be a S&W Shield. I e-mailed him and my brother on Thursday with some info on the gun because they both know that I am in the market for a CC gun. When I visited home last month he alluded to purchasing me a new gun completely out of the blue after learning that I was looking into concealed carry. Today he message me that he has a little gift for me upon passing my current hurdle of the CPA exam on Saturday.

All the clues line up in my mind towards a CC gun. It could just be a $20 attaboy giftcard to best buy though. Considering I won't know my test score for at least a month or more after taking the exam, hopefully he meant a gift upon successfully sitting for it rather than passing. Big Grin

That'd be an awesome gift! You should be going out and having a good time after each of the 4 sections (and again when you find out you pass). I know I did. Good luck with the rest of them.

Who makes a good upper and lower for an AR? Call me a noob, but other than the "upper" and "lower", what else do you need for an AR? Stock and mag and thats it? I know you can go nuts w/ grips/scopes/etc, but what is required?

All of this is my opinion.

But a lower is a lower is a lower. Unless you go polymer you really can't go wrong on a lower. I'd watch out for a PSA deal on here to nab one for cheap. I'd spend the money for a decent upper and brand name bolt carrier group (bcg). Make sure you get a full auto (FA BCG) from a reputable company (I prefer FA BCGs from Bravo Company).

Also I would look for a chrome lined 1:9 RH twist barrel. The military uses 1:7 for 5.56, but most civilians will shoot cheaper/lighter .223 which performs better with a 1:9 twist. Make sure the barrel is marked 5.56 not .223. And the lower should be marked multi-cal.

Basic parts:

Upper - Barrel, hand guard, upper, gasblock/front site, flash hider, bcg, charging handle
Lower - lower parts kit (lpk) buffer tube, stock, grip

My rifles are done. Although I did order a vortex sparc red dot for the rifle on the bottom.
What you guys think of my color fill?
