Ha, I was actually looking at both of these. I see about a $40 dollar difference in price. Is the SPARC worth the price jump? Looking at specs I am not seeing much of a difference.
Big difference is physical size and red dot size (MOA)

SPARC = 2moa dot
The sparc also comes with 3 different sized mounts for co-witnessing through your irons.

Strikefire = 4moa dot

I have owned both, and still own the sparc. Both are great sights, I am not a fan of the on/off switch of either (too easy to activate). The 2moa dot is nice and crisp, so longer range shots aren't as much of a guessing game.

What do you guys have for sights on your shotguns? I am mostly interested in a reflex-style sight.

My shotguns don't have any sights since people tell me with a scattergun you don't need to aim.

In fact, my shotguns don't even have any ammo since people tell me you can just rack the slide and all the bad guys run away.

Shooting mean pieces of paper at the range. I am getting an adjustable stock so I want a crappy little reflex site on top, just to kinda complete the look. I know, I'm a poser...

EDIT: This is the one I am looking at - http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Ar...B003NFI092

No no no don't you listen to Joe Biden? You're supposed to shoot a couple shells into your ceiling or into the air and that scares the bad guys away. So you only need 2 shells.

Plus spare pieces of drywall mesh, a small tub of joint compound, and some extra paint to repair the damage you did by shooting the ceiling instead of the bad guy.

regular ole bead sight for my shotguns. The more you try to aim the worse you shoot. At least this is how it works for me when I shoot sporting clay. A more natural point and aim is what I try to work on.

Iagree unless you are shooting buck shot or slugs nothing special is required.. shells are cheap so learn how the pattern expands and they do drop off power quickly

Hey guys,

I admit I am not a gun expert. Heck I'm not an expert by a long shot.
A couple months ago I bought a Ruger .22 pistol and a Ruger .22 Rifle. How often should I be cleaning and oiling them? Do you use a cleaning kit or do you just use what you've picked up here and there?

Also, I don't know if this plays into how often I should be cleaning them but I haven't had a chance to fire them yet and with a 8 month old I don't foresee doing so for at least a couple more months.

I try to clean mine within a few days after I shoot. Doesn't always work out that way though.

If I were you, I would get a bore snake and some Hoppe's 9 and call it a day - http://www.amazon.com/Hoppes-2401...003ITBKRC/
