The "Talk of cutting food safety funding during peanut butter recall" takes the mantle of hundreds of small food recalls each month, thousands each year. The federal budget's connection to these recalls is not generally considered. The 2011 Skippy recall is throwing this disparity into sharp relief. Lawmakers are actually considering reducing funding to the FDA and United States Department of Agriculture, in spite of the danger of unrecalled food.

Hopefully this one will help someone. Instead of going to the coupon route from Unilever and hassle of providing proof of purchase, I went to Amazon. Anyway I have no plan of consuming a similar product for sometime.

I contacted Amazon.com customer care via email through my amazon account if they will consider accepting a return of this product due to a known recall. I know for sure that amazon don't accept returns of food product. I explained well and politely that one of the product I ordered matches the UPC number in the recall notice and I have no plan on consuming similar product for a while. The product is not yet opened and sitting at home. They will be issuing a refund of my payment and asked me to dispose the items.

I am sure if you will ask Amazon politely they will offer a refund of your payment.
