Agreed...most people I hear talk about it being just a grind of a game if you actually want to complete it, not a fun one. But, it is crazy popular....is it a GTA knockoff? I have never really looked into it.

If you like stupid fun then HELL YES. I actually misspoke a little. Saints Row 2 is my favorite game of ever.

I've never seen anybody say it was a "grind." I know it's not as polished but for me Saints Row 2 was way more fun and entertaining than GTA 4. GTA 4 was so boring I couldn't even force myself to finish it.

GTA has an ending? I thought it was all about coffee scenes.....

I had a lot more fun with it than I did with GTAIV.
I would say it's a grind if you're trying to 100% every possible goal. Not just playing through to the end, though.

I couldnt finish GTA4. That game got horribly boring.

I'm in love with the saints row franchise. I have Saints row 2 at just about 100% including the 50 hour achievement that I got on my second playthrough or so playing online with a friend. The multiplayer is what makes this game for me. Driving shotgun with a friend only to hit something and get windshield cannoned...amazing.

Can't wait for the third to be released. With this and borderlands probably half my current gen time has been spent playing one or the other.

Finally! Some other SR2 fans on SD. I'm a fanboy of the series and I never even got to try the MP. I got into the current gen so late that by the time I got the game there were no more online pimps to protect .

I read that SR3 is taking out online multiplayer and focusing more on Co Op? If thats true, then this series is done. The first one was perfect, but then the 2nd one they took out the most popular and best multiplayer game - Protect tha Pimp. And now in the 3rd they want to completely eliminate online multiplayer games completely?... Wow.

Yep. This article [computerandvideogames.com] does say the MP was dropped to focus on coop and SP. That kinda sucks, I was looking forward to trying the MP. Too bad. Even if they dropped the coop too I'd still buy it.

I played a ton of SR2, and very little of it was multiplayer. There is no grinding in SP unless you are going for 100%. Otherwise it's a blast and way more fun than GTA is these days.

SR2 multiplayer was just terrible IMO and the game as a whole just didn't compare to GTA IV in about 9/10 areas. I am intrigued by SR3 though, because the franchise has some interesting ideas and tons of potential.
