Longtime lurker, first time poster here...
Was approached by a salesperson in Best Buy about the service. The pitch sounded too good to be true & need opinions from fellow SDers as far as experiences with the service.
Basically they are offering 2 HD receivers, one with HDDVR multi-room (record in one room, watch in the other), their Choice Xtra package w/ HD for life(210 channels), $20 shipping for the receivers & dish, free installation, & a $50 Best Buy card. The catch is a 24-month commitment with the first year locked in at $52/mo, then it goes to $82/mo after that.
We currently have Charter and the service has been okay, but with this deal offered we would be getting a lot more for $15 less a month. I love good deals (thanks SD & CAG!) but I am wary and don't want to sign on for this and find out there's a bunch of "hidden fees" or crappy service in bad weather...
So, lay it on me - a good deal or run like hell the other way?
