Tried it with a VIN off Craigslist. It seems to work and yields what looks like a legit AutoCheck report (all the images etc are served from autocheck.com), but the site's more than a little sketchy. It's all in Chinese, has no apparent relationship to Autocheck/Experian, and the main site is just a Chinese WordPress blog.
Got to click the VIN# highlighted in Chinese.. then you can generate the reports.. it works perfectly for my old car which I sold.. but guess.. this info is not very accurate as that of a real carfax..
This is 'Autocheck' - it's from Experian (pretty reputable company) and is the automotive checking feature opted for by the whole of eBay Motors. It is good enough, but from my experience, it is not as detailed as Carfax is. Nonetheless, it's a great deal for getting it for free.
