i have one of these, and have been using it successfully for several months.
the white paint DOES 'come off', so you might just as well remove it at 'jump street'. |

I'm not a fan of the ones that need 2 usb plugs to power and connect the device. Thankfully this looks to be built into one into the enclosure, but pulls 2 usb ports off the computer. I prefer the ones that only require one usb connector.

The two plugs is only for high power drives, or low power USB ports. The real drawback is using an A connector on the drive instead of a mini-B connector as is normal (and for which I have a bunch of cables).
