I got a G560 for $237 a few months ago. Had a small scratch on the bottom, otherwise awesome laptop for the money. I would say go for it...

G550 has really mixed reviews on amazon. seems like you are getting what you pay for.

I sent it to their depot for warranty service. It might be just one bad apple in Lenovo's truck - but it is my first apple from this truck and it didn't leave a very good taste in my mouth

you know, for the longest time i kept trying to find a deal where i could get a laptop with a docking station so i can run dual monitors, and have it be my desktop replacement.....with the crazy low prices of pc's and laptops now though, it is actually cheaper to just buy a desktop AND a laptop....gonna set up some type of NAS at my house i think so i dont have to worry about my data being stored in multiple places....then just gonna get a laptop - got in on the refurbed K300 earlier this week for $262 after taxes....crazy cheap for computers these days!

Heres a nice one, got one with the i5 awhile back for 520.00 but these are still a great buy. I have a Thinkpad Edge 14 and it has the best keyboard I've ever seen on a laptop. Not much on graphics but for basic computing its the best I've used.

I had my credit card ready but I think I'm going to wait. The i3's are too slow and everything with an i5 is over 550 (except the G460 for $445, but that got mixed reviews on amazon) so its not much of a savings over catching a deal on a new laptop... plus some people have had issues with the outlet so I'd rather not chance it. Plus no back-lit keyboard kills the deals.

Any place to get cashback on these? ShopDiscover came to mind but i don't think they work with refurbs/outlet items.

i got G560 (i5 with 4 gb RAM) last week for $440....laptop is like new (no sign of usage anywhere)...only gripe with this essential series laptop is their touch pad...its horrible (with buttons integrated / at the same level as touch pad)...i called them up to complain about it and asked for a mouse...they gave me $40....for lenovo with i5 processor...400$....i am not complaining
