Deal Details

Loose packed Federal branded Lake City M855 ammo. This is in stock with free shipping. $0.33/round for 300 rounds delivered.

Federal Lake City M855 5.56 x 45 mm 62 Grain Steel Core - 300 Rounds [glensoutdoors.com]

They also have Federal Lake City M193 [glensoutdoors.com] for $152.95 w/free shipping in a 500 round case of 20 round boxes. That's less than $0.31/round delivered. --- Now Out of Stock on the M193 ---

Located in Minnesota, so no sales tax anywhere else I assume.

First-timer, be gentle.

P.S.: M855 has the SS109 steel penetrator projectile, so don't plan to use this at any indoor ranges. M193 is fine for indoor ranges.

not a bad deal for shipped ammo. normally to get a good deal I have to buy 1,000 rounds. It's a few pennies cheaper than the comparable 250 round box from usaammo.com

Are you sure it's free shipping? It's showing $11.95 for 5-7 Day Ground Saver.

I see it now. It must have added shipping when I added some 40 s&w.

Some indoor ranges won't allow steel core, but a good deal for out door ranges or plinking in the woods/desert.

I ordered one box of green this morning, received shipping confirmation an hour later. Great price. Later in the day, received Widener's email touting the same item at $119 + shipping. In for two more at Glen's - great post - thanks!

OK, If you like spending extra for M855 verses the XM855.

Palmetto State Armory's regular price on the XM855 (I know it says it's on sale but it's been this price or lower for a month or two now) is $0.31 a round shipped. Less if you order more.

This is an okay deal. Cabela's had PMC Bronze .223/556 55 GR FMJ BT rounds for $6 per box. Not sure what shipping was, but if you bought them in store it would've been $90 + tax for 300 rnds. They are back up to $9/box now. Reviews are very good on these with decent groupings...clean casings with no dents (some reviews said it left their guns "overly" dirty though?). May want to keep your eye on this link. Definitely a good deal for plinking/zombie hunting. Big Grin

Thumbs up though for guns/ammo deal and an excellent deal considering the OP price is SHIPPED!

Get them while you can...new ammo tax is being passed/put into effect very soon.

This is XM855 as well, just loose packed. Palmetto is definitely cheaper if you're going to buy at least 500 rounds, but for 300 rounds this is still the better deal. But Palmetto's is great for ammo deals too.

I'm pretty sure that PMC stuff is straight .223 which is usually cheaper than NATO 5.56mm and not the same beast. Unfortunately shipping usually kills the deal for me from Cabela's.

PMC, etc. aren't in the same ballpark as M855 or XM855. M855 is what's shipped to the military.

my indoor ranges will only let me use frangible ammo anyway, way too expensive........
and you HAVE to buy it from them.. lame

wow I just looked up and the outdoor ranges in LA don't let you use steel core at all.

IKR Arnold was big on guns in his movies, but he cracked the whip as governer. WTF You can't do anything cool with guns in Cali let alone own anything cool. The only steel he wants to see is in the gyms...

My prices were taking into effect buying and shipping 300 from Palmetto. It's still cheaper.

Not to belabor the point, but no it's not. It's $99.95 from glensoutdoors, and it would be $6.19 x 15 + $12 = $104.85 from Palmetto's.
