Scotts 2 cu. ft. Nature Scapes Advance Mulch $2.52 (Reg $4.97) at Lowe's

Thread Details

The Nature Scapes mulch is normally $4.97 per bag (2 cu. ft.), but Lowe's has them on sale for $3.33 each until 3/28/11. There is another deal running at Lowe's that if you purchase $100 worth of Scotts/MiracleGrow items you receive an automatic $25 rebate.

My purchase:

31 bags of mulch: $3.33 * 31 = $103.23 - $25 = $78.23

That comes to $2.52 per bag - almost 50% off!

Don't need 31 bags? Buy them anyways - the way Lowe's returns works, you can buy 31 @ $2.52 each and return the ones you don't need for $2.52 each. That way, the ones you do keep are still reduced (by how much depends on how many you keep).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Are people still finding these in the post office. Before I was a homeowner, I had 20 of these and just threw them out, never realizing their true worth. Now I wish i had 20 of them laying around.

Doesn't mulch attract termites or carpenter ants? That probably doesn't matter if it does if the mulch is not used anywhere along the borders of a home, but moreso outer landscaping purposes.

Is this sale YMMV? Is this sale only for the un-dyed natural colored mulch?

Beats me. I just get a 10% coupon from http://www.homedepotmoving.com/ and Lowe's accepts without question. Probably a YMMV, but always works for me.

I did use a 10% Mover's Coupon, but it only applied to the other items I purchased. Since the mulch had the automatic $25 off, a manager override would have been necessary to get the 10% to stack... and it says on the back "not valid with any other offers".

I don't believe it is YMMV - the $25 off $100 was in the local newspaper ad and an email showed the markdown to $3.33. They also had multiple signs posted around the garden center for each deal.

The Nature Scapes mulch comes in brown, black, or red.

Ia the rebate valid with other discounts?

If you don't need 31 bags this year you could just store what you don't need for nezt year instead of dealing with the hassle of loading 31 bags onto a flatbed cart and then returning the uneeded bags.

I suppose the rebate could be regional, but it is clearly marked in the Garden Center. I can try to get my receipt scanned. It just shows 31 at $3.33 a piece marked down to $2.52 each. It doesn't just show a $25 reduction. I'm in SC (29579) if you want to try to call one of our stores and have yours match.

My local Lowes sale paper that I downloaded from Lowes.com has a coupon to get 20% off Weed & Feed and Fertilizer. I don't see anything about mulch being on sale though nor $25 off $100 on Scotts/MiracleGrow. I'm going to ride by our local Lowes on my way home today and see what I see.

Did you ever find a rebate for Oklahoma? I need mulch, but wish I had jumped in last week with the black preen.
