How do these compare to the Beautyrest Avondales? Just bought one of those from Sleepys and hoping I didn't miss out on this...

Mattresses are the most annoying things to buy. Manufacturers make the same model for different brand stores, but they call them different names. It makes it impossible to compare across different stores...

Thanks and I'll be available to address any questions or concerns.

Would you happen to have the names of some comparable models at other retail stores?

For a mattress, it greatly helps to try one out in store. However, as one poster stated, since manufacturers produce similar/identical models but with different names for different stores, it makes this hard to compare.

We are in the market for a few mattresses, and this seems like a great deal, but I'd like to try some similar models out first before purchasing.

Thanks!

seems to be slick, if you go on the prices others are selling these mattresses at. As someone else said before though, very hard to gauge the value of a mattress. VERY HARD. I recently bought a mattress, and I went to sleepys. Laid down on a bunch of different mattresses ranging from 1K to 4K, and outside of the memory foam ones, I couldn't tell the difference on anything. Granted a mattress is something you sleep on for a few weeks before you get the full feel, but from a consumer perspective, it's absurdly hard to differentiate between the mattresses, and that leads me to believe that there's probably a lot of fluff in that industry, meaning they'll call something a plush euro pillowtop or some fancy other thing just to throw another $800 on the price above the other model that doesn't have that 6 inches of pillowtop...

having said all that, I'll say this. I grew up dirt poor, and as such slept on cheapo mattresses. As an adult, not being dirt poor anymore, I've been sleeping on a quality mattresses for some time now, and I wouldn't want to cut corners in this arena for anything! Not saying go buy a 8K mattress, but definitely invest in a decent one. Not only will a good mattress last you long, but that sleep you get on it, with most of us spending a 1/4 to a 1/3 of our lives sleeping, it going to greatly improve your quality of life...

No problem! Yes we understand mattresses can be very confusing to cross-compare because many retailers get their own series names.

You can find the exact same mattresses at other retailers simply with a different tag.

Here's the same mattress as the Hunterdon at a competitor for your reference and comparison:

Simmons Beautyrest(R) Dunbar Cushion Firm [jcpenney.com]

We want to be transparent and give you the best deal - as low as we can afford to go with free removal and in-home delivery

How much does the Hunterdon suck as a mattress?

Wish Simmons bring back the 66" x 80" Olympic Queen size mattress. King size is too big for me and Queen size too small.
Olympic Queen is 6" wider than Queen and fits a Queen bed frame.

very true, except with tempurpedic, which is what i will save my money for. these mattresses are good deals, but none-the-less they want you to pay the money and upgrade your foundation (box springs) to have use of the warranty.

although the floor serves the same function as the foundation, this will void warranty... and with simmons they use metal foundations, so you will not be able to use a wood box spring/foundation.

the mattress is priced competitively, but these are just models that don't sell in the store, that pillowtop is not as soft as you would think...

my wife would not like these mattresses, and i wouldnt mind them... so i would suggest bachelors or people who need back support for these.

my two cents, i used to sell mattresses.

edit; i will say this, i would prefer simmons over any traditional mattress based on their coil count and individual super pocketed coils. sealy is a close 2nd followed by spring air for me.
