Zune HD 32gb at Costco 159.99 YMMV

Just went and picked one up. I asked the lady if its a national thing or not and she said looks like its 199 and a 40 dollar coupon is currently available to make it 159. So again no exact answer if its just this store or national.

Microsloth has stoppled development on this product so essentially they are selling off the rest of old stock. RIP zune, it was no good any way.

It looks like Microsoft is killing off all Zune hardware, including the current Zune HD models. It also seems that the Zune software, Zune.net and Zune Pass service, and Zune media support for the Xbox360 and Windows Phone 7 is continuing. We'll probably hear more about their future plans in April.

Why so touchy? I just didn't enjoy using my Zune HD as much as I did my iPod touch. I suppose if you're using it to listen to music and nothing else, they're more or less the same, but the Zune HD's lack of any real apps sort of pushed me away.

Good for you. The idea of 'apps' on a device geared to play mp3's and movies makes me laugh.

Well it IS a media player..

I've been a Zune user for quite a while. Have bought 8 of them over the years for myself and to give as gifts. I still use 2 Zunes daily at home and on the road..

I really do like the Zune.. For music, podscasts, radio & videos it is great at what it does..

BUT.. I think it is a very fair criticism that Microsoft was slow in updating both the device and software. True, in some ways they did innovate and bring new features that Apple lacked, but at the same time it seemed to be at the expense of other 'industry standard' features that were always 1-2 years late in coming.

I own a Android phone now and hoped it would replace the Zune in my pocket but I found myself going back to the Zune.. specifically for podcast support.

I don't think any Zune fans here mind honest debate and criticism of the Zune line.. But to say 'it was no good any way' is just a flat out example of ignorance.
