Hi everyone,

I just saw an e-mail from B&N featuring their "mystery coupon" again. Basically, depending on the coupon you received, the discount could be 10, 15, 20, 30, 50% off. The last time this happened, every single SDer received the 50% off code/e-mail Big Grin

If anyone missed it last time, this works great on Star Wars: The Complete Saga Bluray pre-order ($44.80+tax): Linky [barnesandnoble.com]
Just go to the customer service desk, place your order and take the printout with the barcode to the cashier. That's when you present your coupon to get the 50% off. Although most of us were able to order it this way during the last deal, some were told that the coupon excluded pre-orders (so, YMMV).
It should also work on The Lord of the Rings Motion Picture Trilogy: Extended Edition pre-order [barnesandnoble.com].

Here are the 50% off multi-use in store coupons:
502001 - Nonmember 50% [barnesandnoble.com]
106381 - Member 50% [barnesandnoble.com]

Rest of the coupons, in case someone doesn't like getting items at half price laugh out loud
501961 - Nonmember 10% [barnesandnoble.com]
501971 - Nonmember 15% [barnesandnoble.com]
501981 - Nonmember 20% [barnesandnoble.com]
501991 - Nonmember 30% [barnesandnoble.com]
106351 - Member 15% [barnesandnoble.com]
106361 - Member 20% [barnesandnoble.com]
106371 - Member 30% [barnesandnoble.com]

No, it didn't, so you can avoid the awkwardness of the bookseller rejecting the use of multiple coupons. The weird part is that she had called the manager and asked whether she could stack the 50% coupon on top of the B1G1 50% off and the manager said yes... It might be possible, but since they have to key in the B1G1 50% off manually, it won't work most of the time.
I'm not sure why you say it won't work most of the time, it should work everytime, just perhaps not exactly the way you want it.

For the B1G1, the 50% comes off the lowest item after all discounts (I'm reading right off the project instructions). So if you have 2 $50 DVD sets, It would be $45 (box sets auto-discount 10%) and $11.25 ($50 * 10% box set = $45 * 50% coupon = $22.50 *50% Promo= $11.25) so a total of $56.25 (minus Membership if you have it) + tax for both sets.

If you can convince the cashier you have two different coupons (Member & non-member or two different %'s) legitimately (say you're friend/spouse/etc is with you, and you both got one in your email), you could possibly use both at the same time, bringing you total in the same example I used above to $33.75 (minus Membership) + tax.

Using one coupon should be no problem (I've rung several people up for this, but none of you as they were 15 or 20% coupons Wink). Using 2 is YMMV and depends on the cashier, but the POS allows it.

If I buy membership TODAY, will I be able to get the 10% today as well? Is there a temporary card that I could print out?

You didn't pay anything for your Groupon?
"Dude, you're so slick and you don't even know it" /swingers

that's why this deal and YOU are so SLICK... I got my gpn's with referral credits

Out of pocket..

LToR = $26.53
SW = $27.41
Tarzan king of the apes = online $1.08

the only way to make this slicker is to use an ONLINE 15% off code on the Tarzan

so I left $.15 on the table

now, I wish BN hadn't killed my other referral purchased GPN's

When I did it, I printed out the email with the membership number and brought it to the store. If I recall correctly, it was delivered pretty quickly. I ordered an e-gift card to get the free two months and then used that gift card in store.

I registered just to thank you for this heads up. This was the first time I was ever able to find a slick deal at a b&m Barnes & Noble.

For anyone interested in a hardcover edition of The Making of Empire Strikes Back [barnesandnoble.com], I was able to get it delivered to my house for $30.48, incl. tax & free shipping.

I asked the Customer Service desk if I could order a new copy, since their only in-store hardcover was banged up really badly. Found out that if I ordered it delivered to my door through the Customer Service desk it was at the online $49.99 price (as opposed to the ridiculous list price of $84.99). Added the non-member 50% off coupon and it brought my total to $30.48 and still eligible for the over $25 free shipping they offer. Great deal on a great (but horribly overpriced) book, in my opinion. Even cheaper than used on Amazon.

Thanks!

I'm holding the box set in my hand right now., and it does say there is a "FREE MOVIE VOUCHER!" "up to $8.50" and "directions to print inside" included in the set.

Ship to home price is $54.74 - 50% = $27.37. If you take out the $8.50 for the ticket that ends up a little under $7 for each blu-ray. Nice find!
that means it dropped down $4 original price so it's an additional $2 savings. i may consider getting this now. i only own the first one on regular dvd

matrix collection on blu-ray also dropped to $52 which means $26 after coupon. oh the decisions

Just curious, anyone buy Tangled DVD today, get talked into a copy of Princess Diaries for only $2.99, misspeak and let on you knew you had the 50% off coupon, then when the total was announced you were informed "wow, that's pretty SLICK " ???

If that sounds like your trip this morning.... wave woot wave Wink

Sorry for the OT, just the way she/you blurted out the 50% and the smirk I thought I saw when I called you slick, I just had to post to see if I had found a SDer...

Coupon works at the Starbucks inside my BnN too. I got a drink, maybe should have gotten a pound of beans.

Did you guys follow these instructions (posted on the first page):

The in-store coupon can be used on anything (that is doesn't exclude ) sold online so long as you pay for it in the store:

1. Order at the customer service desk what you want online (you will get the online price) and select pay in store. Do NOT mention the coupon to the rep because this will only confuse them and make them lie to you that it won't work.

2. Go to the cashier with your printout/receipt and present your 50% off coupon.

3. Act surprised when the 55 year old lady behind the counter has a premature heart attack over how lucky you are.

4. Use whatever payment method you want and rejoice in your slickdeal!

NOTE: If after the reduced online price +50%off you are still above $25 you also get FREE SHIPPING!

Just wanted to get everything together so I have a higher chance of success. Last time I tried to get the Star Wars blu, the employee I got was new, called the manager, and it ended up being this big thing with quite a few people getting involved. Most of this was due to the 2025 due date though. This time I'm going for Tron 2-Movie Collection (blu)

Anyone know a good way to turn my $180 Barnes and Noble gift card into an ebay card besides the obvious of selling it?

There is no trial membership in store, only online. Some have posted saying they were successful in purchasing an eGiftCard to get the membership, and then used to eGiftCard in the store to get the item they wanted. That way you just need to wait for the e-mail with your Member # and your eGiftCard # before you head out.
