Possible to make office chair higher?

My wife needs an office chair to go higher to line up correctly with her desk. Problem is, her chair maxes about an inch or so too low. Are there options to make the seat higher rather than buying a new chair (she thinks it is rather comfy and doesn't want to part with it).

could look for bigger casters (wheels) other than that i got nothing.

By a $5 chair seat cushion from Walmart. The kind made for wooden dining room chairs.

I actually suggested she sit on a phone book, but when she sits on something, the lumbar support ends up in the wrong place.

Does it have a screw adjustment? If not you could always get a longer pedestal rod (assuming its a hydraulic lifter) . I've taken them off junked chairs and reused them. Otherwise they cost up to 30 bucks. http://www.echairparts.com/servle...Categories You just have to match the same diameter. they are taper fit into base so real easy to replace. That looks like a great plan. I found an attachement that turns the chair into something like a drafting stool, but your plan looks much better.
