Leaving Full Time for Part Time - advice?
note: sorry to admins if this posts twice . not sure if it went through the first time
It seems I read on this forum sometime ago some helpful nuggets for those who have resigned from their jobs in the past.
One in particular was to at least bring a minimum take home pay of $5000 for some odd reason or another. lol Unfortunately, a search hasn't yielded such postings, hence my new thread.
So, I was wondering if anyone here can offer advice? I will take anything I can find right now, Usually I research EVERYTHING before jumping into it (or buying it or agreeing to a contract....yes I am one of THOSE) but in this case, my parents (who live out of state) are experiencing health problems and its better if I move to be with them. I figured my last day can be early May so I am fully covered on my employees health insurance until June.
Fortunately, I have a side hustle that allows me to WAH so, I can work up to full time hours while helping my parents but this is seasonal and will end mid to late summer. Not to mention the pay will not even come close to my full time job. And then the job market in my field doesn't look too promising in my home state so that may not be an option in the future so I am a bit worried.
Anyway, the point is: now i need to obtain health insurance , perhaps open an HSA, roll over 401K (its not much) so before I can see a financial advisor, I thought i'd do it the slickdealer way.lol
Also any ideas on resignation letters? And should I ask any sups about letters of recommendation for the future? I am just short of 5ys (and full employee vesting) but I have held this off for too long so, I just have to bite the bullet on that. I do not want this to look bad, though, when and if its time to find something new in my field (if I cant go back to my old job)
Hopefully u guys can help me. If not, I will be forced to go to the "gigantic sized pocket item designed to hold currency, which was hopefully obtained by the member's clever use of ideas from its namesake's website" forum. lol (sorry, I sill don't know why we can't post the name here so I might as well make it as oblivious as possible)
