Viera Link - Hdavi Control 4 & Hdavi Control 5 compatibility

HRockets 2,027 288 April 14, 2011 at 03:53 PM
I've been trying to link up my Panasonic TV (tc42px14) to my Panasonic Blu-ray Player (dmp-bd85).

I'm trying to hook things up so that the remotes work together and can basically perform the one button, multi-task thing.

It's basically the Viera Link that I'm interested in as I don't have things set up for Cast.

I've got both devices hooked up via HDMI and both devices have Viera Link set to "On".

Through all of my fiddling and instructions reading, I did noticed that the TV mentioned hdavi control 4, while the DVD player mentioned hdavi control 5.

Are these not compatible and is this why Viera Link is not being activated? Thoughts?

Thanks.

Hi komondor. Yes the player is hooked up to the TV via hdmi "1". It's the only hdmi cable that is hooked up.
