TD? Lifetime warranty. I've used my 1/2" sockets to remove frozen bolts on exhausts and never broke one.

I have the 1/2" drive metric set, haven't used it much but seems pretty decent. Paid $19.99 for it before shipping.

If the title was Craftsman, it would be FP. Check out the price per piece compared to the crappy Craftsman deal with all the bit fillers. Unless you're working on diesel engines (and true mechanics would probably be using even higher end tools), these will hold up ever bit as good as Craftsman sockets. I've got both, and don't see a difference.

What brand ratchets are you using? If your ratchets don't work quality of sockets is trivial. I've had horrible experience with HF ratchets but not sockets.

I use a HF torque wrench and breaker bar when I need to pull out the half inch sockets. For normal use, my old neighbor used to sell for Snap-on, so I have a few of those. They're smooth as butter. My Craftsman ratchet got wet, and grinds when I use it. Just need to exchange it.

Never ordered online - we have a store a few miles away. I'd call them and find out. Rarely see free shipping over XX dollars, so that's nice as well.

As most people know, HF sells some pretty okay stuff, lots of absolute junk and a few real gems. Those of us who value our knuckles are not going to even consider them for hand tools like sockets.

I got the impact sockets last week, if you look in the harbor freight coupon thread there's a 20% off any one item(not in the wiki) that makes the Impact sockets even cheaper since they're on sale in store for $19.99. I used the 20% off on 1 set and the $16.99 coupon for the other set. Wink

If you're working on anything impact or high torque, you need to be using gloves regardless - doesn't matter if it's Snap-on, Craftsman, or Pittsburgh. I've never had a 1/2" Pittsburgh socket break taking off rusted muffler bolts. Not did I have one strip a bolt or nut. You need to clean and loosen the fasteners prior to cranking on them.
