The coupons are available at the store. Not available on-line as far as I know. They're likely on an end cap in the tool section or on the Milwaukee tool display. You take the coupon up to the register with the tool kit and the desired battery.

One big note of interest and likely a mistike by Milwaukee....the coupon does not limit in it's text that you have to match a 12V kit with a 12V battery or 18V battery with 18V kit. It does not ring up that way at the register, unfortunately, and will likely require manager approval in some cases. I'll give the list, then clarify. Bolded parts were done by me.

Coupon states:

"Redeemable for ANY single Milwaukee M12 battery pack (sku 362-837, a $39 value)
or the M18 battery pack (sku 388-260, a $69 value)
or the M18 XC battery pack (sku 353-990, a $119 value)
with the purchase of ANY of the following Milwaukee M12 or M18 tools":
(ending quotes, just listing what's eligible - sku first)

M12 Tools:
319-849 M12 3/8 Drill/Driver Kit
358-384 M12 Digital Inspection Camera
837-631 M12 M12 Compact Driver **$99**
327-482 M12 1/4 Hex Impact
186-400 M12 Combo Driver and Hackzall **$149**
186-433 M12 Hackzall
187-654 M12 Tube Cutter
762-363 M12 Inspection Camera AV
763-922 M12 Right Angle Drill
852-543 M12 PVC Shear
310-440 M12 Radio
939-520 M12 Palm Nailer
939-553 M12 Multi-Tool
175-608 M12 Combo Hammer drill/Impact
255-719 M12 Hammer Drill
381-177 M12 Rotary Tool

M18 Tools:
452-413 Hammer Drill
836-083 Compact Drill
453-040 4 Tool Combo Hammer/Sawzall/CircSaw/Light
175-795 4 Tool Combo Hammer/Sawzall/Impact/Light

Now, the two I put prices for are the better deals in my opinion, but if you're looking for any of these, a free battery is nice. If you match a M12 battery with an M12 tool kit or a M18 battery with a M18 tool kit, it will work without a hitch. You can also use the Lowes 10% Off Coupon in most cases. I tried mixing and matching at 2 stores just to check. I bought the M12 Compact Driver Kit for $99 and got a M18 XC Red Lithium Battery (Value $119) to use with the coupon. The coupon did not scan valid at either store and will probably not scan for anyone who tries, but the text of the coupon cleary states "Any Battery, Any Tool Kit." One manager allowed it, the other did not (though he was pretty bull headed and didn't even stop to read the coupon-just assumed I was stupid-which gave me extra motivation to post this deal!)

Maybe that combo will work for y'all, worth a try, especially if you have both voltages at home like me. I paid $99 plus tax for the Compact Driver kit with 2 M12 batteries, charger, case and M18 XC battery to use with some 18V tools. The Good Manager had to manually ring up and reduce the XC battery, so it may be a timely process if you try it.

good from 4/14/2011 - 5/18/2011

thanks op,
I ended up going today and popped on the 175-431 4 Tool Combo Hammer/Hackzall/Impact/Light at $379 I have been wanting to purchase. This is a nicer set than a lot of the others IMO as it has two XC high-cap batteries. I was able to get the free M18 XC battery and it is good knowing all batteries are both the high-cap and the newer "red" lithium that is supposedly better. I also used a 10% off mover's coupon. I haven't seen a better deal and since Lowe's doesn't do Milwaukee, this was a no-brainer. I'm not sure how much I'll honestly use the Hackzall as I already have a regular Sawzall, but it might be good for under the sink type jobs. Everything looks sturdy and warranty seems solid too.

Thanks OP. Ran across this while investigating the Bosch drill at lowes for 99.

Got an M18 Compact Drill SKU 836-083 for $199, and free M18 XC battery. I had the same issue as OP, the coupon wouldnt ring up properly. Manager inferred i could only get the M18 slim battery with the drill. I refered them to the wording on the coupon that said ANY tool with ANY battery, listing SKUs that are valid.. Manager overrode it.

As a bonus that I was not expecting, the drill came with the 1/4" hex impact driver as well. Great for driving screws into studs. This was not written anywhere, online or instore but on the box itself. All in all, 2 tools, 2 regular batteries and one high cap battery for $199 sounded like a better deal then the Bosch going for 99 at Lowes.

Didn't think about buying the M12 tool and getting an M18 battery. Saw a newer Red Lithium XC on the shelf the other day, behind the older ones. Definitely stopping by tonight to give it a try! I like the little $99 drive. Could come in handy.

FYI, Amazon has the same deal, but the type free battery is tied to what kit you buy.

I had no problem getting 2 M12 kits with 2 M18 XC Red Lithium batteries today. I did this at 2 separate stores and in both cases the manager had to override the cost of the battery.

And to make the deal even more sweet, I used a harbor freight 20% coupon on both purchases.

1st Kit: M12 Mutli-Tool Kit ($149 - 20%) with an M18 XC Battery ($119 Value), $126.94 out the door
2nd Kit: M12 Hammer Drill & Impact Driver Kit ($199 - 20%) with an XC Battery (Value), $169.54 out the door.

Sweet deal!!
