Nikon D5100 Body + Lens Kit 809.99 + Tax Best Buy B&M

I was gonna get the Canon T3i, but this deal is looking really tempting. Specially, if you consider HDR video recording and night vision built in.

I don't believe it's "real" night vision as some people might expect; and image quality at an ISO that high is probably terrible, but yeah, it's definitely a strong option vs the T3i.

Side by side comparison here, both of the cameras look great and have their strengths, and are essentially in the same price bracket. Anybody looking for a DSLR right now wouldn't go wrong with either one of them:

Thanks for the info. I found the d5100 in store today and was successfully able to use that mobile coupon after being hassled by the sales reps. They said the coupon didn't apply and told me I had to purchase their protection plan and buy some accessories in order for them to give me any sort of discount including price match. In the end they finally put the coupon code in, it went through, and I paid 809.99 + tax for the camera kit. Also picked up an 8gb sdhc class 10 card currently on sale for $24.99.

i'll suggest the Tamron 70-200 f2.8 for this purpose, perfect working distance for surf. It's fast enough to bring in sufficient light at high shutter speeds even on those stormy blown out days. (surfer/photographer myself). It's worth the 700 price tag for sure. the 28-300 f3.5 is also a good lens.

Not a bad deal, considering the thing just came out. I'm really tempted to sell my D5000 and upgrade to this, but I think I'll wait for a deal from an online store, so that I don't have to pay tax.
