My homeowner's insurance premium actually DECREASED?!?!?!?
Yep - by about 30%~!
How the hell did that happen?
All the coverages are the same (actually coverages increased a bit due to appreciation, something they automatically figure in). Deductible is the same.
However, the premium went from $1,003 to $704 (per year), a 29.8% reduction.
Would it matter that we are just finishing our first year in the house?
We have auto with them too, and had a condo policy with them before we bought the house.
I called my agent and they can't find a reason why it would have changed.
Don't get me wrong - less $$ is better but call me a skeptic - usually insurance companies don't give you gifts.
