He detergent doesnt work that way. It just doesnt suds as much. Still cleans the same when in the proper concentration for the amount of wash water.

You will use more because you have more water in your wash tub. Follow the directions on the box for non HE washers. This applies for any HE detergent regardless of brand.

To determine if you have enough soap, feel the water after its agitated a few minutes it should feel slippery. If not add half a scoop, let agitate then check again.
You can check the water this same way in a front loader during the add a garment cycle.
