RETIRED: Shaws Supermarket (MA, ME, NH, RI, VT) Deals

Awwww wormy.... not your fault!! Shaws is the one killing the deals. We had this for a few months last year and then we got a few good cat deals - so keeping my fingers crossed.

I think everybody must be at Rite Aid (or in the hospital after getting knocked down by someone fighting them for the last roll of bad toilet paper).

I have now tried posting next weeks preview via mobile 3 times and everytime i am done typing it all up on my tiny phone it gets deleted when i try to ppost i will do it this afternoon from a pc if no one beats me to it sorrrrry

Aww, it's not you wormie. I admit I haven't stepped foot in a Shaws for what seems like two months. I can't bring myself to make a special trip just to get a few free bottles of something to drink, or a cheap bag of rice. Been doing most of my shopping at market basket and hannafords once every two weeks, and pick up essentials like milk, eggs, butter, etc. at RA, using UPs to pay.

I LOVE Market Basket. I have to drive 2 hours each way to show there but I do it at least once a month. My car is full but so worth it. My local Shaw's sucks. The deli manager won't order fresh wild salmon when it first comes in season. She says nobody will pay 15-20 for salmon. I keep telling her we can't buy it if she doesn't order it. They just don't give a *&*^%$^&.

Wormie you are doing a great job. There haven't been any sales. I haven't been here because I haven't shopped at Shaws in a few months. Sent DH in to get butter last week..does that count?

And besides you couldn't kill the thread even if you wanted too..we are all to stubborn to die.

Where in Maine? There are some in southern NH. I drive 2 hours to get to a MB and it is worth it.

$25 a week isn't bad, when it comes down to it - we all just got really spoiled when we used to have CATS to use at Shaws to pick up the things we usually spend money on. I hate it that I spend about $30 every 2 weeks for just the two of us, but we eat pretty good on that $30, including DH's breakfast snacks for work, he brings his lunch using leftovers from dinner and we eat homemade dinners every night. Since he is pretty picky, I can't always buy the cheapest things, like chicken, very often. I try to to sneak in a stir fry type of meal every once in a while, but it doesn't go over too well! But I am pretty good at stretching the meat I do use.
