Electric Lawn Mower $75 or $125 after you trade in a working Gas Mower - FL and PR Only

Pep Boys is running an offer where if you trade in a working Gasoline Lawn Mower, you get a brand new working mower. CALL YOUR LOCAL STORE FIRST! I found this deal at the Plantation Pep Boys near the SawGrass Mall on Sunrise Blvd.

I could not find anything on their website, but I found this post.

There are 3 options ranging from Free to $125. I went with the $75 option.

The Process as explained to me by the Store Manager. You bring in your working mower with the gas tank empty. They will pull it to the shop area and spray in starter fluid to test it does indeed start.

What actually happened. I wheeled in my mower and took it to the Service Desk. The Service Mgr took down my info, asked me if it starts, I said "Yes, I just fired her up and drained the gas tank before I brought here." OK, go pick your new model and paid the $79.00 after tax and he helped me load my new mower in to my car.
(For those that missed it, they didn't test my old mower.)

Good Luck and I hope this helps someone else. None of the models are self propelled. Reviews seem OK. Looks like this offer is good till the end of April.

I have a 20year old craftsman. I spent about $40 at sears to get a new blade, e3 ecofriendly sparkplug, air filter. I drained and refilled the oil with halfquart of new motor oil, put a proportional amount of fuel injector cleaner into the tank of fuel, and spraypainted over all the rusty spots with rustoleum metal spraypaint (now an awesome metallic bronze instead of dull red).

The mower works really well now, better than it has in the past 10years; there is no smoke or smell of smog/fuel (indicating to me that all the maintenance is working to have the engine running efficiently)

I think my refurb job and reusing something that still works is more "green" than trashing it and consuming the materials and resources needed to manufacturer this new mower.

This mower only does a relatively small front yard every other week which is probably the limit of these electric mowers, and takes about 2years to go through a gallon of fuel.

If you do need a new mower and your old mower is beyond repair, this looks like a good deal for you. You maybe able to use craigslist to find some beatup mower to trade in.

With mowing season coming up (or already here for many) people are bound to figure out their old mower isn't working and impulsively go buy a new one. Leaving me with an easy fix most times.
