Broken Roomba (Need review of repair services available)

I did lots of research and this is what I found out. From another site I found a review of send away repair services for Roomba. I bookmarked it and pasted it into this post.

"Sent my less than a year old Roomba 535 to this outfit. $50 just to send it. Sent to them in October, took until January to get a response, which was they could fix it for $455. I only paid $225 for the unit NEW! I pointed this out and they just said it's not their fault if parts to fix exceed cost of purchase. They "insist" on fixing it to be like new. Unit ran fine, just would "circle" instead of normal pattern. Do not believe this was such a comprehensive problem that whole unit needed to be "replaced" at higher cost than purchasing a new one. So I wasted $75 and 3 months of time but I was not going to let them keep it and re-sell it. Robbery!

After reading this review and a couple other unfavorable reviews I decided to try the do-it-yourself kit, as it is only $20 and well, if it doesn't work I'm only out $20. Anyways, I put my order in at the EESolutions [eesolutions.ca] website and received my kit a week and a half later. It ships from Canada so I'm guessing that is what caused the delay. Anyways, I have no background in electronics and have not fixed anything ever in my life that involved electronics, but I thought I would give it a try.

I opened up the package and I got a guide and some components. Went step-by-step through the guide and was able to have my Roomba up and running in about 2 and a half hours. It probably would have been faster if I wasn't watching Glee at the same time.

My only negative about the product is that the pictures are in black and white and well I guess I was expecting a more refined product. Other then that, it is definitely worth the $25 ($20 +$5 for shipping). I no longer need to worry about having to replace my beloved Roomba. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who is having the nine beep problem with their Roomba.

I'ved been getting a lot of follow up messages about this thread so I just wanted to post that the fix works. The company is legit. I recommend this repair kit as it is a fairly easy fix. I also just checked out their site and it looks like they now offer a "solder-free" kit which is a great idea. And for all that keep asking, my Roomba still is running great. Thanks.
