Former aide rips Palin in leaked book manuscript

A leaked manuscript by one of Sarah Palin's closest aides from her time as governor charges that Palin broke state election law in her 2006 gubernatorial campaign and was consumed by petty grievances up until she resigned.

The manuscript opens with an account of Palin sending Bailey a message saying "I hate this damn job" shortly before she resigned as Alaska's governor in July 2009, less than three years into her four-year term. The manuscript goes on for nearly 500 pages, a mixture of analysis, gossip and allegation.

... Bailey wrote in the book that he and his co-authors put together the manuscript with the help of more than 60,000 e-mails he sent or received while working for Palin.

A one-time aide and friend is telling all about his soured relationship with Sarah Palin.

Frank Bailey's nearly 500-page opus, tentatively called "Blind Allegiance to Sarah Palin: A Memoir of our Tumultuous Years," is based on 60,000 e-mails he exchanged with the then-governor of Alaska, the Anchorage Daily News reported Saturday.

Once a part of Palin's inner circle, Bailey joined her campaign for governor in 2006 as a campaign worker. He soon became an administration official and a close confidant before losing his position after the "Troopergate" scandal in 2008.

Among the claims made in the book, Bailey writes Palin told him in an e-mail that "I hate this damn job," referring to being governor of Alaska -- a job she held for less than two years before resigning in 2009.

The difference with this book is that this guy has thousands of her emails and was a true insider.

Since a manuscript was leaked a while back, some of the material is available out there, although it appears the upcoming publisher is asking sites to take down a lot of it because it is difficult to find.

In one, Bailey notes Palin telling him "we're the last of the genuine people", while she was writing one of her many phony letters to newspapers praising herself, claiming to be someone else.

The book is being released next month.

I've yet to encounter an intelligent person considering this woman worthy of holding any political office. Among many character flaws, she is a quitter. But unbelievably she has a base.

I read an article on this story... I think it was on dailymail, and someone commented, "oh great, another left wing hack wrote a book. Yawn." HAHAHAHA

Unfortunately there are those that would actually vote for her.

That is what is so totally extreme.

Palin wasn’t entirely divorced from local issues at the time, but her fixation on appearances veered into the absurd, Bailey writes.

When an Anchorage TV news station, KTUU, ran an online poll in May asking Alaskans if they agreed with her decision to reject federal stimulus dollars for energy, Bailey writes that Palin’s inner circle “invested time, energy, and emotion into linking our computers and utilizing our software into generating votes in favor.”

Refreshing the results to run up the votes, they e-mailed one another.

When an aide said Palin was initially leading the unscientific survey, the governor responded: “Oh, thank God!”

“Yes, (Newt/GOP) are egotistical, narrow-minded machine goons … but all the more reason God protected me from getting up on stage in front of 5000 political and media ‘elites’ to praise him, then it be shown across the nation.” Palin wrote in the e-mail.

Palin went on to express another reason she was thankful to the Almighty that she wasn’t attending the fundraising gala.

“Plus, I had nothing to wear, and God knew that too."

Yes, because unfortunately, she didn't have GOP campaign money to spend on wardrobe at the time.
