. I do think amazon needs a bit more structure in CS since i had to go thru 4 people to get someone who could "authorize" a new power cord being shipped to replace one that was doa.

I don't mind the coupon selling, but the associated returns of the Kindles is just unfair to Amazon and all the vendors. You just have to have the decency to keep the KSO and not burden everyone else (in the form of increased prices) for your own personal gain. Otherwise, Amazon will probably link the coupons to accounts (which ruins it for everyone) or just start providing less enticing coupons (which would be bad).

The thing that pisses me off is that all the people who jumped on them to get the laptop code are pissed off that the terms changed, even though Amazon is within their right to do so. The whole "customer is always right" bull shit is actually the "customer who bitches the most, chatting with 8 different representatives is getting what he wants." It's frustrating to me that people are taking advantage of this. Someone in the thread said they were able to get 6 codes applied today.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised at this point if we see codes that pertain to the Kindle (covers, lights, books, etc.) and coupons like $15 off a $30 purchase, etc., while the codes that are sought after become few and far between. It angers me that people take advantage of Amazon like this and then even turn around and call them Scamazon. The farking nerve of people. Good things fall apart so better things can fall together

Of course I've seen some disappear after three days and "The Help" was added on a fourth day. The ads could stay as long as whoever is paying for them wants them to. But typically they are every four days. |

The "smart" thing would have been to make an exception for the 20% laptop code and tie it to each account. It could have been even applied to the account directly, without issuing any code, and if you had a qualifying purchase in your cart, then the discount would have kicked in... The current method of using this code after they updated the list doesn't even involve using this code, because the CSRs can't apply a code on an ineligible laptop; so, they are manually reducing the price of the computers to reflect the same discount, leaving the code "unused". This will allow these people to purchase another laptop from the new list and flip that as well. Again, I'm not endorsing the abuse that's taken place using this code, but Amazon should have seen this beforehand. Let's hope that they won't restrict every single "small" code to an account and take appropriate measures for the big codes only in the future. Last edited by tenderidol; 08-11-2011 at 04:03 PM.. |
