Just called and no checks anymore for all cards issued after Jan 2015.
But the TOS still says checks are allowed.
The Reward Card is subject to applicable law; a $2.00 monthly service charge applies but is waived for the initial four (4) months after receipt by cardholder. See cardholder agreement for complete terms and conditions. If you prefer a check, simply call the toll free number on the back of the Reward Card upon receipt and follow the telephone prompts.
I had to load several cards to NE GC just to buy 1 HDD.
What are some good strategies for maximizing the return on these cards?
Found this thread via googling. Just called now to get my Canon rebate card turned into cash and they said they can direct deposit it or mail me a check. I chose direct deposit and she said it'll be about 15 days.
Glad I found this cause I had no idea what to do with this rebate card!
FYI, on my card for a McAfee rebate through Tiger Direct, I just spoke to a supervisor at Amex and he confirmed that this program existed though 2014 (duh, I used to use it), but that it is no longer eligible for any card that was activated from 1/2015 on. Obviously ymmv on other cards / retailers, so it's probably worth the quick call, but your odds are probably lower than in the past.
