Thread Details

I went hunting for tents today and found a great deal at Costco in Houston for a Coleman 10-person Weathermaster Screened Tent for $145.
It is only available at Costco as far as I can tell. The closest I can find is the Coleman Weathermaster 6 Screened Tent at Walmart for $192 or Amazon for $178.95.
The dimensions are 16x10x74, just slightly different than the Weatherman 6 Screened which is 17x9x82". It looks like they may have made it so that you can sleep in the screened area, which may be why the dimensions look the same but can sleep more people.
Also, don't confuse it for the Coleman Weathermaster 10, which does not have a "screened porch".
I google image searched the model number (2000008678) and found the attached pictures.
For $145 plus you can return it if you don't like it or if it messes up, I thought this was a very good deal.

I have this tent- I bought it on ebay for $200. This is a great deal and the tent is FANTASTIC. We camped through a very very strong storm and it didn't move. No leakage either. Jump on this if you can find it

As a general rule about tents- None fit the number of people they say they can-comfortably. Especially if you factor in gear and pets you might have brought along. I think tent manufacturers go by slave ship standards for how many people can fit in a given space.

Thanks for the pics. I saw this at Costco but couldn't find anything about the model - other than the WeatherMaster 10 which isn't the same tent.

I think I may give it a try though, the price if right.

I used it this weekend, and it was perfect. Held up to the wind just fine. I did buy some heavier stakes though. It only comes with the skinny L-shaped kind. Also, I am 6'3" and stood up easily inside. We had 2 queens with 2 adults and 3 children without a problem. It was pretty big.
I'll see if I can find the SKU from the receipt when I get home.

This is a great tent, i have the one without the screen section and love it. Its not the fastest to setup, but its not difficult to do but does take 2 people. Its roomy and i really wouldnt want to go back to a dome tent after using it. It is large enough that you can keep away from the walls during a storm and still be quite comfortable. Its also nice to be able to stand up and walk around inside of.

Wait, so if this is meant for 10 Chinese men, it's only a 3 person for Americans, right?

Anyone compared this to the Coleman Instant Tent 8? I'm torn between the 2, although the Costco tent is $45 cheaper

As an Eagle Scout I can tell you anything called an "Instant Tent" scares me. Any tent by design shouldn't take more than a minute to set up with two people. Ben & I used to have ours done in 30-45 seconds not including the rain fly as we let the tent breathe first. They should advertise weather fighting abilities not speed of putting it together. I slept in old school coleman two man tents for many years, before upgrading to a 3 man for space as we went on longer trips.

Pass on the instant tent...
