Canon S95 $319.99 at Bestbuy.com Store Pick Up Only YMMV +5% ShopDiscover
I've been searching for this camera for over a month now. Most online retailers are either sold out or they've marked it up over the msrp of $399.99 due to the shortages from Japan.
Just checked Bestbuy.com this morning due to the dSLR deals on FP, and found this little gem. It's not available for shipping, but I was able to find a store about 30 mins away from where I live for store pick up.
DO NOT FORGET SHOPDISCOVER 5%
I'm also going to try and see if they'll accept the 10% coupon from the USPS Mover Pack when I go pick up the camera.
Product Total: $319.99
Sales Tax: $28.80
Order Total: $348.79
Yup, still kicking myself for not buying it for $300 at Newegg on BF last year.
I didn't even know I wanted it then.
This deal is tempting.. I've been waiting to buy this camera for 2-3 months now. I figured the expensive/OOS situations lately were partly giving me time to pay my CC off first (yaay responsible) but last week my cat knocked my current (and ancient) P&S cam on the floor and the shutter button's kinda broken.
Just chatted with the b&h price match guy and he said "That's a great price but we cannot match it". That sucks. Although it would be about $330 from beach via ebay if you used that 10% coupon floating around with 10% ebay bucks and 3% eb8s.

Canon S9*: ???
Canon is pretty consistent in releasing new models (same with Rebel DSLR models) like clockwork each year. Chances are the replacement to the S95 is going to be out in just a few months, so if you can hold out, you'll probably be able to get the S95 for even cheaper...
Can someone explain why this is advantageous compared to a digital SLR I can get for around the same price?
Picture quality is worse than any SLR, obviously, but is still remarkably clean even at low light. And it's still the only "good" P&S that is truly pocketable (Nikon P300 might be another, but it doesn't shoot RAW).
