2011 LG - Panasonic - Samsung Plasma Price Tracking Master Thread

Deal Details

Piggybacking off last year's Samsung thread, I'd like to generate a wiki for the 3 major plasma brands for 2011. Most of the manufacturers place restrictions on pricing and don't allow online retailers to show prices until final checkout. This thread will allow us to weed through those restrictions and find the best current prices.

I am much more informed with pricing on the higher end models for all 3 manufacturers, but admittedly, I could use some help on the lower end.

Any help keeping the wiki current is appreciated. I will do my best with what I have already documented on some of these models, but again, I do not have info on every model.

Sony no longer makes plasmas, and this is a plasma thread.

I think this is a great thread idea. thanks op.
As a side note I got in on the fry's $1199 sale for the 55" LG LED and, if i can find a great deal on one of these plasma's i'll have to take that tv back. I just get tired of having different settings to use in regards to motion correction for cable, blu-ray, gaming etc. +1 for plasma tv's.

It might be useful to note product line information rather than stats for each model. For example, Panasonic S30 are their budget 1080p and ST30 are their budget 3D 1080p

Just curious.. why not track all HDTV pricing including LCD, LED, etc.?

I vote for separate Wiki's

Otherwise it will become way too cluttered.

I will start this AM.
also, perfect just doing the plasmas, otherwise, too messy.
speaking of plasmas, whatever happened to the $500 50" 720p we all saw last year on amazon. havn't seen anything close since then. anyway, thanks again!

I'm borderline between a Panny or Sammy Plasma 1080p the 46" or something really SD in the 46"/47" LCD for this Memorial Day sales. I'll be sticking this thread and checking often!
BTW, are the new Plasmas really energy efficient compared with the LCDs or they still eat up a lot of watts?

Thanks OP. Repped!

I've decided against a LCD/LED wiki. It's literally hundreds of models between a dozen manufacturers.

Thanks OP! I'm in the market too. Lucky I don't "need" one until this fall (assuming there's an NFL season) so I can get the best value.

Hoping for a Panny, 1080p, 50" - 60"(of course the bigger the better), 3D, glasses deal that will knock my socks off.

Go Pack!

Thanks OP for taking the time to gather all this info!!

I've been on the lookout for the LG 50PV450. Couldn't get in on the Fry's deal, so hoping the price drops back into that neighborhood.

Thanks for creating this thread. It's great.

OP, please note that Fry's B&M has the Samsung PN51D550 on sale for $877. This sale began on Monday May 16 and ends on Thursday May 19.

This is a great thread, but I think that LG deserves to be included.
