Piggybacking off last year's Samsung thread, I'd like to generate a wiki for the 3 major plasma brands for 2011. Most of the manufacturers place restrictions on pricing and don't allow online retailers to show prices until final checkout. This thread will allow us to weed through those restrictions and find the best current prices.

I am much more informed with pricing on the higher end models for all 3 manufacturers, but admittedly, I could use some help on the lower end.

Any help keeping the wiki current is appreciated. I will do my best with what I have already documented on some of these models, but again, I do not have info on every model.

How does price matching work with the Kindle code? Let's say a television is $1000 on Amazon and $800 on Buy.com. How does the 20% factor in?

Also, on Sunday night I tried to do a PM before I purchased and by the time they got back to me the next day the price increased... will they honor the earlier price?
On my tv they ended up just crediting the difference between the two prices and didn't do anything with the 20%. The credit should've been less because it should have been 20% off the new price tv but instead they just gave me the difference and left the original discount intact.

So in essence what they did for me was gave me the 20% off $1000 then gave me a $200 price credit when i did the challenge. Guess their lazy to do math?

Thats a crazy deal, but it looks like they messed something. Where is the Avatar kit in the above totals? They separated mine between the tv and the kit.
They also separated mine between the tv and the kit. On the bottom line the tv after all the credits was 1543.22, then add the 222.92 (kit) from the other invoice =1766.14 for both. Then minus the -151.18 for the credit from the buy.com price=1614.96.

Mine went something like this. Can you help explain how you got them to price match?

  TVGlasses Total
Subtotal of Items: l $2,155.37 248.03 $2,403.40
Shipping & Handling: l $0.00 0 $0.00
Promotion Applied: l ($431.07)  ($431.07)
Promotion Applied: l ($222.43)-25.6 ($248.03)
l ------ $0.00
Total for this Order: l $1,501.87 $222.43 $1,724.30

Note: Looks like the price went up at buy.com to $2185.
Our breakdown was pretty much the same. The only difference was that my original tv price was more so they gave me a higher %20 credit. Once I challenged to buy.com price of 2056.0 instead of changing the %20 off the new price and then giving me the credit they just gave me the credit, so they were lazy i guess. For the challenge all i did was click on the i found a lower price button on my orders page. 1724.30 is still an awesome price

Yup, all I did was do the web form. I'm in Iraq right now so I don't have access to a phone to call. Submitted it last night got a response in <8rs even though it said to wait 24-48hrs for a response.

Whats' everyone doing for warranties? Normally I opt out because I've have 3 previous panasonic plasma's and have never had problems but for 200 from squartrade for piece of mind isn't that bad, especially since the replacement of a 65in isn't going to be this cheap the second time around. What price do I get the warranty for? The before credit price or the receipt total?

I assume one has to order the tv before the link to price match it appears?

You only get 1 PM. if you order then call in they can match without using that 1 PM. This is UNTIL the unit is at your doorstep. At least this is how CS explained it to me (which isn't always the most trustworthy)

I penally was able to do this. So at least it worked for me.

Got a shipping confirmation for my Panny ST50 today -- bought it from 6ave via Amazon

The shipping company is ICAT Logistics...am curious if anyone here has had a delivery from them?

On another note, the tracking number in the email isn't coming up on the ICAT website tacking app..too early still?

Thanks!

CEVA ended up delivering my 65st30 this morning even though it wasn't scheduled til tomorrow. I'm deployed but wife said they unboxed it and hooked it up to make sure it was working properly. they ended up putting it back in the box because it wont be set up til i get back home.

On a side not, I successfully got an Amazon credit of 151.18 on the 65st30 w/ avatar kit to buy.com all i did was use the found cheaper price link on my orders page. breakdown is as follows.

Item Subtotal: $2,207.67
Shipping and handling: $0.00
Promotion Applied: $-441.53
Promotion Applied: $-222.92
Total: $1,543.22
Paid by Mastercard: $1,543.22

1543.22+222.92=1766.14-151.18=1614.96 for 65st30 w/avatar 3d kit

What price @ buy.com did they match against? I request 2057 and got denied due to 3 reasons: Got 3 emails from them - all denying a follows:
1) I'm unable to approve your claim because we do not match the third party listings on other websites. The link you provided shows the TV is on buy.com and sold by 6ave Electronics
2) After reviewing your TV Low Price Guarantee request, I'm unable to approve your claim. When we receive a request to price match a TV offered in a bundle, we take all aspects of the bundle into account. They are not offering the avatar starter kit bundle.
3) If an item is available on Amazon.com as well as one of our competitor's websites, we want you to buy it from us. For 14 days beyond your ship date, we offer a TV Low Price Guarantee with a few restrictions. The terms and conditions for the TV Low Price Guarantee can be found here:

Am I doing something wrong or plain unlucky? They denied me in 3 places Frown

Got my P55St30 yesterday and am currently running slides. One issue I was having while I was setting it up was that I was unable to get the wifi to connect. It sees my network and I gave it the right password but it just refuses to connect. I am using a TRENDNET|TEW-432BRP 802.11 b/g router. Is there anything specific that I need to do to get it connected?

where did u get the slides from?

called to pricematch 65ST30 on buy.com but office was close. next day, price went up and amazon won't do pricematch.

my tv is being shipped and currently in town and schedule for Friday delivery. my american express only show $222.48 charge for bundle kit but no other charges for TV.

when does amazon charge your credit card?
