I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon matches this in the next few hours. But I'm starting to wonder if that item is the same as the one on Amazon. The model number on buy.com is the exact same as amazon. I've seen lots of products with same model numbers end up having different colors before. I've also seen buy.com and amazon mess up on there descriptions once in a while with features that were or went really on the item. Dince they are both the exact same model number they will have the exact same features. The only difference maybe the color at most.

Edit:

I just did a google search and from what I can see there all mostly white so either amazon messed up on the picture color or they just changed the color from white to black. Its also $299 at B&H as well, same model and its white.

$289 at buy.com seems like the best price that I've seen online when searching google.

Slickdeals isn't about getting credit but it is about the best deals. We don't need a whole bunch of post for the same product at the same time with just a few percent difference in price depending on your location and tax etc. This buy.com deal didn't just start at the exact same time as the amazon deal. This deal was posted 3 minutes later and should have just been another option in the wiki. People and rep man I tell you.

I understand what your saying, but Slickdeals also deletes duplicate posts as well. That would mean the others should be deleted since this is the best deal posted in the same small time frame.

As for getting credit and reputation, you say slickdeals is not about that, then why even have it. If someone doesn't get credit for finding a better deal, or his post gets deleted just to get connected to another users post to allow them the credit then the whole rep system is flawed. If this is how slickdeals works, then the whole rep system should just be removed since users reputations would be skewed by users who posted better deals to only have it merged into there post to where the original user gets the reps from random people who are happy to give it.

After this conversation, I can already tell that I wont even bother trying to post any deals since this is how people think about good deals.

To the op, sorry to have taken your thread off topic. I just signed up for this site and apparently for someone who enjoys getting recognized or reputations has no chance if they have a life to not be first to get the earliest timestamp to get credit even-though its cheaper.

Then slickdeals should have this post mixed into his, but he also lists both places. For some reason your attacking the other guys post just to get this one noticed. I for the life of me cant figure out why, unless your true motive is to get this post recognized because the other username belongs to you as well. Just because the other post was posted 3 minutes after this one doesn't mean he shouldn't get credit if its cheaper. If it was done your way then this user would get all the credit instead of the guy from the other post. I bet they both started typing there posts at the same time. This one was only 3 minutes faster. I bet the other user had to edit his post to make sure everything was correct before doing so. Some people do spellcheck.

If they combine it his post with the better price will still be there and people could still rep him. Many times I have seen a fresh post and posted a better price in that thread and also received rep.

My whole point is to share deals to help other out who have posted deals that have helped you. Slickdeals is about helping people out not building a imaginary score. Just top let you know I have already made a few post in the suggestions section about changing the rep system. The system is majorly flawed for reasons just like this. Rep should mean something but on slickdeals it's horribly misleading and has become more of a hassle than I think it is worth in this system.

So again post your deals but do it out of the kindness of your heart not for internet fame.lol

I just don't like seeing the same product posted 4 times like this was. I don't care which one they combined them with and had posted that the other were reposted. If you look this was the first post that's why I didn't list this one as a repost but with you being a complete new user and clearly clearly personally sticking up for this guy like you know what he did or was thinking leads me to believe if anyone is the same user that would be you.

What ever you say dude. I'm done replying to you. I wasn't sticking up for anyone. I was arguing the facts about the web site and how they should handle posts but apparently the rules that this site has doesn't give credit to people that should have originally gotten credit. The rep system should be recognized and fixed for such issues as these.

You replied to my first post, then i edited it. Yet you replied to the before edited message a minute after I edited mine. This is the small time frame i was talking about and how easily it is to get put after something even if you started typing it first, which im sure you did when it came to replying to my post.

Wow, I can tell that this thread ended up off topic. When i posted this deal I was actually looking at this on buy.com soon after I got an e-mail form them linking me to there site and I came across this when i searched for surveillance cameras. Then I stated to post it here and decided to do a couple searches before i did. I searched and found Zero posts with it at 11:58. Then I searched google for price comparisons to see if its the best price, then after my research I decided to add the link to amazon for the people who have to pay tax with buy.com

After all that i hit the submit button and the thread was created.

read about the foscams.. they are really cool, google em, research, whatever, for the money.. let the other people squabble and bitch.. the hell with everything else... you are surveilling an apartment
