Wanting to paint my bedroom and maybe even the ceiling using two to three different colours/shades. Went to home depot to browse and a majority of the 'name brands' all cost between $20-30 a gallon. Months ago, my sister bought some paint on sale for $3/gallon! Maybe it was those specific colours only, I don't know, 'cause she bought like aqua-ish or teal-ish shades and they're probably not as popular. Would probably be impossible to find anything close to those kind of savings again but maybe $10-20/gallon isn't out of the question? If you know something, please inform. Thanks.
I went ahead and got the paint from wal-mart. What I did was take the Behr colour card samples I got from home-depot and had the paint guy at wal-mart colour match them with their computer. We then mixed it in the 'ColorPlace' brand interior flat paint which was only $7.77/gal. I had him match 2 colours. One seemed to match almost identical to the card sample. The other one (a light cream) was a little off initially but we added some more white to soften it and it turned out close enough for me.
I'd recommend trying this strategy for anyone else looking to paint and save some money on those 'premium' colour selections.
