AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz + GA-MA78LMT-S2 Motherboard $99.99 AR + Gift Card at Fry's - Microcenter Price Match YMMV

Hi all, went in to Fry's today and for the third time got them to match Microcenter's [microcenter.com]AMD Phenom II x4 965 [frys.com] bundle price + $10 for the Gigabyte board [frys.com] for $139 - $10 rebate printed at checkout. The kicker was then getting Fry's $30 giftcard on top of the price match for the bundle.

I'm not sure how you all might spell this out, as it is a gift card on top of the price match but I can say this is one of the slickest bundles I've ever left a store with.

Part of the trick is making sure Fry's has the motherboard that MC bundles - and that your Microcenter has it in stock - or they won't price match. Good luck!

It works. I just did it and bought it it. total (counting GC as cash back) was about $104.00, tax included. Site was City of Industry (see my post below) - duenor

I think its in their AD, the cashier will give you the gift card at check out, but its a huge YMMV, since every store and manager are different.

We need a pic of the Receipt, then maybe we will have a better chance, and the title really should say $129AR + $30 gift card + tax YMMV

The guys price matching huffed and puffed a bit, but it's because they don't like doing the footwork. Tha said it's worked every time for me: three MC AMD bundles now, two Antec 300 cases (also $39.96 MC matches), and a couple Hyper 212+ CPU coolers (also MC matches).

Comes up on their register when she rings up the CPU - it's on the ad, in SoCal anyway. Will post my reciept and GC scan in a sec.

As I mentioned a second ago, I've never been refused. It's worked every time. Fry's is really dicey as far as employees go and I think it helps to stick to using the same one or two guys. I didn't yesterday and it took longer.

Then they are lying in their advertising. It may be worth 5 mins to write (and fax if you can) a short letter to the CEO of the company to explain. The text of their flyer on price matching is really clear and CPU's qualify.

That reminds me I forgot to mention above abt 3 months ago I also bought an i7 950 I bought for a workstation build for $199 at Fry's, matching MC. I think being confident and cool about it helps, but I have always gotten matched.
